My mam tells me about how as a child she saw the glow in the sky of Liverpool burning during the Blitz. That is one horrible memory to have.
I've no idea. There you go - everything you wanted to know http://www.eyecharity.com/history-of-st-pauls.html
I think I read somewhere that the greatest concentration of bombs dropped anywhere in the UK fell during the May Blitz.
They are building a wind farm off the coast by us and just a few weeks ago they found three unexploded bombs from WW2 on the sea bed.The thought is they were dumped from a bombing raid on Belfast.
Glasgow, Belfast and Liverpool were on the Luftwaffe's target list, don't know if Cardiff got bombed?
Read the thread title again! It's called LIVERPOOL memories Who gives a damn what happened in Mansfield?
Foredeck, I used to go to the Allerton for Saturday matinee. It was the Looey the Lion Club if I remember correctly. I went to Dovedale Primery School and our prefects were supposed to keep order at the Saturday matinee (great idea of our headmaster). We had to behave or they reported us on the following Monday and we got caned, kids from the other schools just battered them.
Its the centre of the universe, how can you not care? Okay, okay, I get the hint. I'll piss off.... for now
