We had times when we had a telly and times we didn't, so lots of programmes are just names I remember but never actually saw. Being on rental, when times were hard the telly was taken back to the shop. Watching snooker in black and white was a challenge!
It wasn't a corset it was a little fleecy vest. I remember getting bathed in front of the fire and having it held in front of the fire to warm it up then put on, had little rubber buttons.
We didn't have a telly until 1954 so it was Listen With Mother! Like JB we didn't always have a telly. We were given our first one and then rented for years. We may not have been down the pawn shop but the telly was a good indicator of the financial situation
They were for boys and girls - maybe girls wore them to an older age, my memory of wearing one is one of being very young.
