I don't think you actually need to relocate to London to be allowed to see Big Ben. I'm fairly sure they let you see it if you're just on a day-trip too! Sorry- my smart aleckyness aside... I don't think the millenium dome is why people move to London and I think it would have a draw for some but not such a draw for others... it's got nothing to do with tourism- you don't see all the big names queuing up to move to Blackpool- nor have I heard that Eurocamp United are doing all that well. if football players wanted to move to London it would be because of all the expensive places they could spend their money. Restaurants, bars, nightclubs, up-class brothels, etc... Typically the bigger the city the more of those (and more exclusive ones of those) that they have. So yes... some players would be drawn to London. At the same time there are plenty of people who don't want to live in large cities. I, for example, if I were to be some rich footballer- I'd want a large estate outside some small village as far from the hustle and bustle as possible. I would not want to live anywhere near London. End of the day though- most people end up moving to where the best job is. When you make as much money as top-footballers do- you can make a paradise using your money in town or country.
London will always be a draw for some players. Perhaps even more so if they believe that London clubs are prepared to pay higher wages. However, for those players who have families the draw of a top non-London club will also have its attractions.
If a player chooses a club based on how many nightclubs or shops are around said clubs then he isn't worth having around.
Agreed. Players should look at the prospects of the club and not what sort of attractions are available in that city.
Depends if he's world class, even then, he can still do what he wants, sh..it it's not like he can't actually go there, no?
Lol Where were the top players in London clubs before Abrahmovic came? lol. Even Arsenal got some of there top players from foreign clubs were the players didn't make it there. Players go wherever/whoever is paying the most £££££, period i.e. Man city an example atm.
Ok, so I'm curious, when did adebayor become so highly rated? I always thought he was decent, but when he was as arsenal, all their fans said he had 'the touch of a rapist.' Now it seems everybody says hrs great, can lift a team, blah blah blah. When did perception of him change?
Assuming we finish in the top 4 either way, I would rather go for the cups than the league. I think it's more likely this year.
