AMC is a popular range of BMW. I think that's why it seems a more familiar abbreviation to use.

 

think you mean AMG and they are the Mercedes sprucer uppers not BMW

 

I've never taken to using initials to represent players. Never use TAA, VvD or AMC. I would never verbally refer to a player that way, so to write it just feels wrong to me.
Though I do use initials for competitions, for some reason.

 

AMC is comic / superhero world, think it's a TV channel too

Tbf, it doesn't take much longer to type Trent, Virgil or Macca, and it's much more like the sort of diminutive you'd use in normal speech.

Thats an X4 the only AMC reference for BMW that came up on a search is a dealership

Apologies only half of the image came up. On the picture I thought I'd posted, below the car (above) is the old version AMC model the X4 is supposed to have replaced. AMC is a German car manufacturer who, as far as I can ascertain, made BMW'S and put the AMC logo on a particular range. But what do I know. I will bow to your superior car knowledge

I've nothing against the use of nicknames, I'm saying that in normal speech I would never use initials, and it doesn't occur to me to write them.

 

In which case, AMC is the nickname I use for him
