He was all over the place against Bayern, even over near the left wing - in their half - at times. Take a look at their second goal (Sané). Huge gap in our RH channel and he's nowhere to be seen until the ball's in the net.
This season will be the first in 65yrs that there isn't as player in the squad that either played with or was managed by Sir Kenny Dalglish
Teach me to not check the workings out not it Edit; unless we signed a player that had played with Kenny elsewhere?
callaghan starts it as Dalglish played with him. Dalglish then will bring us all the way from 1977 or whenever to 1991. he then resigns and leaves someone has to bridge the gap 1991 to 2011 when Dalglish signed Henderson carragher is a huge stretch there from about 1997 up to 2011 so he started without Dalglish being there but was later managed by him. I don't know that mcamanaman was given debut by Dalglish or souness. I can't recall the only couple I can think of from 1991 to 1997 would be rush or Barnes so not sure when rush left. that middle zone has to be some old stagers that stretch 20 odd seasons.
i think it has to be callaghan, Dalglish himself, Barnes, carragher, henderson I think they all played in at least one game per season.
did he give them a debut though? he has to have played the players in a game or played beside them at any point in their career. callaghan is our record appearance carragher is next or thereabouts (I can't recall if he is second or not but it's right up there) Henderson is the obvious last man standing from 2012 whoever it is has to bridge 1991 to carragher's debut. I think its John Barnes or mcmanaman as Google tells me mamanaman made his debut imunder Dalglish in 1991 and left in 99. carragher debut was 1997. Barnes played with and under Dalglish and his final game for lfc was in 1997 after carraghers debut. these players give you an unbroken line of seasons all the way back to callaghans debut. now this stat is very much a non-entity as there's extremely small overlaps in one way or another interspersed with major impacts
