Hillsborough songs are pathetic, and if LFC fans are determined that ATV is a Hillsborough song, maybe you're right.

Heysel songs are fair game though imo. Liverpool don't deserve any sympathy or mercy at all in that respect, in fact I feel they got off pretty lightly. Yet when obvious Heysel songs eg 'Murderers' are sung, you still get some ******ed scousers claiming it's about Hillsborough <doh>

Dongo, I have a hangover and just skim reading your diatribe has made it worse. Unbelievably dull.

Again i don't disagree - they've got everyone by the balls at the moment as it's now a magic word which closes down any argument about anything. If you get banned from their board they'll say it was for Hillsborough comments. In a lot of cases (mine included) it's just not true.

Anyway - you have one song which is unambiguously about heysel and can never be construed to be about anything else - maybe just sing that all the time <laugh>

    1) Didn't say the gestures didn't happen, but repeatedly asked for the film to identify those that did it - if they did.

    2) By your logic this hasn't been denied by Man utd so it must be true. Do I need to back it up with solid evidence like "My mate saw it", "It was in an Irish newspaper" and "Liverpool fans had been as good as gold up to then, so why would they respond to it if it hadn't happened" such has been offered on this thread up to now as to 'proof' of its veracity?

So if we DO accept unverified statements of hearsay by journalists (your standpoint, not mine) United fans were singing Hillsborough songs long, long before any 'gestures' by one/two Liverpool fans at the end of the game. Ergo the rush to victimhood and "they started it first!" is nonsense.

Again, wonderfully ironic given the chant in question.

It is as far as he's concerned - every member of the liverpool faithful is a non smoking, Church going tee total. In fact they're all so busy helping old ladies cross the road and doing other good works i'm amazed they find the time to get to the match on a saturday.

I can't work out if you believe this Mail journalist or not?

Personally, seeing as he doesn't know the difference between your and you're, I don't think I do.

Therefore, the song 'if it wasn't for the scousers we could stand' is in my opinion in reference to Heysel, when the trouble caused by your fans first set the seed for all seater stadium.

    Ergo, not about Hillsborough.

See how piss easy it is to make things convenient to fit your own story?

Unfortunately they help the old ladies across the road at knifepoint and take them to the post office where said old ladies withdraw all their savings for them. Those lovable rogues!

My nephew from Liverpool has just been up to ours visiting his Grandparents. It was his birthday while he was up so as a surprise, I put £20 in his grannies purse.

Come on Donga, you seemed to have intentionally ignored that post of mine with Everton fans also snging "always the victims' song after the Suarez/Evra incident was going on.

Why would you want to sing 'Heysel songs' in the first place?

Whatever you think about the causes of that event, it was ultimately a tragic loss of human life and not something which I think should not be used as a stick to beat 45,000 Liverpool fans (99.9% of whom had nothing to do with the event) with.

Why do you think it is fair game to call innocent women, innocent kids, innocent OAP's and innocent men, all people who had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Heysel, murderers? Would you be happy being called a murderer by thousands of people because Ian Huntly is a United fan? <ok>

A lot of your fans thought it was fair game to sing about Harold Shipman. Even your most legendary manager was at it, using Dixie Dean's funeral to slag off Everton fans. 50 years of class - but with such disrespect being shown by your leader what can you do? <ok>

It would be easy and convenient if your opinion was sensible, but it is not!

Heysel did not 'set the seed' for all seater stadium at all, so your opinion is fundamentally flawed.

Your response is typical of United fans trying to justify themselves. Of course we can go into details about various chants that have been sung over the years and go round and round in circles trying to prove one set of fans is worse than the other.

My point is/was, why is it fair game to sing the songs at all to innocent people? I could ask the same question to Liverpool fans regarding Shipman, but I haven't seen any comment on here justifying those chants, unlike the comments I have seen justifying chanting murderers to innocent people! <ok>

So what you're saying is singing about Juventus fans dying is absolutely fine? You do not take into account that you may upset families of the people killed aslong as you're getting what you deem to be 1 up on opposition supporters who in all likelihood had nothing to do with Heysel.
