So you'd agree if you were struck by one you could have been in serious trouble. It's one selfish twat saying look at me ain't I great and ruining it for rest. Eventually lfc will get a serious punishment cos website whining isn't dealing with it.
And throwing one on pitch is a huge no no. Had a dortmund player say decided to drop you never know what a vengeful ref or uefa would do.
At the end of the day, there is a reason they are banned inside of English stadia, you have someone, in a compact crowd of thousands of people, holding a disposal blowtorch that reaches degrees of up to 250, any number of people could be burnt. Not to mention the smoke inhalation, and the fact that people paid to watch a football match, not a twat with a flare obscuring the view of the pitch.
Flares are used for marine distress They are designed not to be extinguished easily or quickly. They contain chemicals And can burn at temperatures of 1600°C - the melting point of steel. Smoke bombs are mainly used recreationally in paintballing and war games They are designed to be used in wide open spaces. And they are dangerous for those who suffer from asthma So.... you want to some guy to pull out a thing beside you that that hot and hope you'll be ok fine.....
And all because of a couple of smoke bombs? Behave. That'd be taking a sledge hammer to crack a walnut. Try just warning people that if they're found with one they'll face a 5 year ban for being a penis
Yeah it is impossible really to expect every single fan to be searched for every game. Screw doing that job at Old Trafford, frisking 76,000 people, would take hours to even get in to the stadium, plus they'd need to employ like a hundred people to do that with any expediency. These days, they know more or less where most people are sitting and have constant CCTV and TV coverage, so yeah, if someone does it, find the dick, chuck them out the stadium and ban them.
There's a clear 3 year stadium ban in the guideline rules for this. There is a reason why normally home games don't see many. Lads do it more away where there's drink on the bus and the big lad mentality comes in. They are also harder identify at away game. I 5hink the club knows who's at it frankly.
thats as funny as mostly only men being searched for drugs when going into a night club lol. see why so many get away with ****e nowdays.
there are and so there should be, but that's half the problem, any one with a bit of nouse knows they go straight through. back in the day when i used to go clubing( too old for that ****e now lol) me and my mates always laughed at how ignorant bouncers was to just searching men and letting girls go through ( slightly improved now days in having female bouncers for that reason), so we just gave our sweeties to them. you have metal detectors etc when going into court, why can they not implement that for stadiums somehow. trouble is these type of questions only get answered when something bad happens. i live in a road that is used as a short cut, and the council to save money have painted a 20mph on the road(yeah that worked lol) next they have put a red triangle of school as pre school down my road, but on both sides of the road this gets covered by parked fecking cars!!!! just amazes me the level of stupidity now days to save money.
Last time I checked, Court rooms didn't have 50,000 + spectators Not sure why people are finding this hard to understand. For every fan to stop, take out their keys, wallet, take off their belt, etc Would be a ****ing nightmare.
But you don't need to stop everyone. If someone is walking in in shorts and t shirt, you should be able to see if they've got a flare sticking out their pocket! Only need to search those with bags etc
It just needs the stewards and the coppers (with the aid of CCTV) to do their jobs ffs. Where's that huge cloud of smoke coming from? Oh yeah it'll be that dude over there They light them, hold on to them for a bit and then wang them onto the pitch. It doesn't need Poirot on the job to identify the culprit. We have an issue with it, especially at aways. I was in a pub at Boro before our cup game this season, and some melt lit one in the crowded (home fan) alehouse.
Yeah loads of people wearing shorts and T-shirts between September and April in the UK It would make going to games in winter a write off. Don't need a bag to have a flare, just a sleeve.
Off on a tangent slightly.............it must be 20 years or so ago, but does anyone remember a Serie A game where supporters managed to get a moped/motorbike into a stadium (can't remember which one) and actually drop it from an upper tier. It didn't hit anyone because people were aware it was coming and got the **** out the way. How the **** did they get that in? Have I just dreamt this?
You used to be able to hire leather cushions in the top balcony and main stand at Goodison. The traditional show of displeasure after a poor performance would be to run down to the front of the stand and lob your cushion onto the pitch. I remember one game where literally hundreds rained down from the top balcony aimed at various players (and it's quite a drop!)
I agree with tobes. every prem ground is covered with CCTV. Every season ticket is SUPPOSED to have visual id. If a guy sets off a flare his pic should be available and he should be given 3 year ban... enforced by FA down onto club. 50k fine a time would waken them up. I think there is an element of ah well what harm in it all until someone gets seriously burned. Milk said something about metal detectors in us friendlies he went to and i presume Superbowl and such all had such precautions but seriously.... the yanks have made that for themselves with nutsoid gun laws. In a free country you really ought to be assumed innocent til proven guilty and the guys acting the clown should be taken out.
