Liverpool are not a big enough club to sign mid tier players without European football let alone stars.
It has it's upside, you lot and Spurs bought some of those mid tier players so we still have the cash, get 4th and we can try again in the summer. I am extremely happy we did not spend 32m on Willian, really delighted that we missed that target.
He's not what we needed and I think as far as we are concerned it would be 32m badly spent. Chelsea can pay 80m on 2 duds and they didn't bat an eyelid so 32m is not an issue with Roman. Think about it, If we had bought Willian instead of Sturridge at that time. We would not be 4th. Sturridge was nearly a 3rd of the transfer cost for Willian. Sturridge was the right player and he's given a good return so far. Willian btw is playing OK for Chelsea, not particularly great by any stretch of the imagination, he works very hard off the ball which suits Jose down to the ground given his style, the keystone in that team this season has been Hazard. He's been fantastic.
Fair post. But we love Willian, and you hate Sturridge. We love william not because he turned down you as our rivalry is dormant, but because he hates tottenham. Actually I think there's something not quite right about Studge, dunno what it is about him. in terms of end product though am very happy with his contribution. He's our second striker and has bagged more than the main strikers at almost every other club. Can't knock it but I get a feeling that some uppityness has crept into his attitude but maybe that's just me. Willian certainly does work hard but it's not where we are short, midfield and defence are our main problems and Willian is **** all use where we need strengthening
We have a great song for Willian. We never had one for Studge either. Talented lad but a front-of-the-queue prick
