Anyway before we get too excited , why would athletico come out and deny that any bid or deal had been done and that there is " zero chance of him going anywhere" I can understand the posturing but if we have hit his release cause why not just admit it. He may not want to come anyway.
I believe minimum fee clauses are different in Spain. If they receive an offer from a club abroad, then they don't have to accept it straight away? Or summat like that. But Atl Madrid need the money - they sold Falcao but they didn't receive all of it plus they signed Villa and someone else. They have already received an inflated offer for Costa so I can see them accepting it.
Very impressive stats for a player who is out on the wings. However, he is not a natural striker - his finishing is very poor (makes the comparison with Kuyt even more convincing).
So.. what's the craic, have we actually made an offer for this guy or is Ben Smith yet again making **** up?
The echo, BBC, guardian, sky and telegraph are all running with it. The only "source" who are denying it is some crappy rag in Spain.
Well the echo is the key one in there for me. Anyhow, apparently Atletico have hinted this Summer that Costa could be sold for big money.
They're more often than not reliable, and the reports that are not reliable are just put in to their rumour mill. I trust the echo more than any other news outlet for anything when it comes to Liverpool.
