Deadly serious Flanno isn't the greatest FB ever but he's better than anything else on offer at either of our clubs.
Anyone putting Ozil in their team is only looking at his pricetag Henderson pissed all over him this season
Again, not sure if you're making a serious comment here and I feel proving that he clearly isn't better than anything else on offer is a waste of time as it's not needed, but here goes anyway... If we completely put aside Bellerin (who I think is better than Flanaghan anyway - indeed he's played about the same number of top flight games and looked better in those than Flanaghan ever has for Liverpool), you're also saying that Flanaghan is better than Debuchy? Flanaghan - the guy who's played 2/3 of a single top flight season in his entire career and looked 'quite good'? Against Debuchy - the guy who's played nine seasons for Lille, won the french title, played 28 times for the national team and is now their first choice RB, and now plays (albeit sporadically) for Arsenal? You're saying Flanaghan is a better right back than Debuchy? Jeez.
Yes, yes I am. I am also saying he is better than Glen Johnson (previous PL, FA Cup and twice League Cup winner), Jose Enrique, Alberto Moreno (a EL winner). In other words, I couldn't give a **** what these players have won. At one time of day Ryan Giggs had won less than than most professional players, no one as won more now. I prefer to use my eyes, Flanno is very young but he is also a quality reliable FB that can play either side, if he can shake his injury issues, he'll prove to be a much better player than any of those mentioned IMO.
Well I'm still at a loss of whether you're on the WUM as others say you are. It's either a subtle WUM lost on me, or you really think this. Anyway, Bellerin is already at a higher level than Flanaghan was when Flanno was fit ages ago... and Flanno isn't fit and hasn't played football for an age. Bellerin is also two years younger. If you watch them play when fit, Bellerin is also a better football player and defender. In fact I can't see any angle of looking at those two and concluding that Flanaghan is better. And then you have to also consider that Bellerin is not yet as good as Debuchy. So... hmm... anyway, moving on.
It makes me feel better to allocate all our full backs a generic score out of 84 in order of FAKT ability: 1. Monreal - 81 2. Debuchy - 80 3/4. Gibbs - 75 3/4. Flanaghan - 75 5. Chambers - 70 6. Moreno - 50 7. Enrique - 40.6 8. Johnson - 30 9. Manquillo - 13
Exactly. When it comes to defensive positions, reliability and consistency are more important than being able to get forward or put a cross in. Ironically, I'd argue until the cows came home that Steve Finnan was the best wrong foot crosser I've seen in the English league!
