I now think that the opportunity to buy him for 3.5million in January was not available. I hope we can sign him in the summer but I'm less sure that is as clear cut as it seemed earlier in the season. I have a feeling the media speculation was the backdrop to some haggling over a fee.
Livermore himself has said there's a fixed deal in place for the summer, as long as we stay up, but obviously we won't know for sure until it happens.
The parent club can always go back on it. Elmohamady came on loan with a fixed deal to sign for £1m if we were promoted. Elmohamady cost us £2.5m. Go figure.
I hope your right OLM, I would like the lad to sign and I think he will, but what has happened with Hobbs has just put a small amount of doubt in my mind.
