That Foreskindave should be "laughing" at Thirsty Kenny as well as Fergie?

You may be right about the squad factor - I'm not debating whether they are right or not, I'm pointing out that pretty much every manager makes the same complaint about the TV companies and their ability to shift games around at will. As NOF showed, even Dalglish was at it last year, and he didn't even have to handle European fixtures as well. But as usual only SAF gets all the attention from the media and the fans.

So, given that the PL has the fairest distribution of TV money of any major European league, do you think every manager is also biting the hand that feeds them?

Also worth noting that, despite the highest revenues of any European league by a long way, and probably the largest amount of money pumped in by third parties, the PL still ranks a way behind Spain and Italy for CL success. Probably no coincidence that those are the two leagues where clubs sold their rights individually and so had the power to fight inconvenient scheduling (up until 2010 for Serie A anyway).

Our next bunch of games are Monday, Thursday, Sunday, Thursday, Saturday. (5 games in 13 days). 2 rest days, 2 rest days, 3 rest days, 2 rest days.

Worse fixtures than United who play Sunday, Wednesday (no different from Monday Thursday) then have a nice long break until Monday for their FA Cup game before playing on the Saturday. 4 games in 13 days. 2 rest days, 4 rest days, 4 rest days.

It's a squad game, if you don't think your squad can compete in all competitions then you have to priorotise. They've got a long break after the Champ League game so if needed can give players a rest then in the FA cup game as well.

Isn't there's a break between the last Thursday and the Saturday? Stupid bloody internationals I presume.
Other than that, it's true- fixture congestion affects most reasonably successful clubs.

Fergie has a point, but an equal and opposite point is that without TV tyranny there would be nowhere near the same amount of money in the game.
Whether or not this is a good thing is open to debate, but we can't have it both ways.

No, we play Swansea in the only game as the following week they have the Cup final against Bradford so it was brought forward a week.

Edit: Oh wait, we play straight after the 1st midweek game because of Swansea but then get a big rest after the 2nd Zenit game and Wigan game because of the re-arranged Swansea fixture.

Why has Fergie suddenly aged so much and now sound like a raving mad auld biddy?

This season out of nowhere he keeps coming up with these mad rants and accusations and become a bit of a comedy figure.

He looked terrible on footie focus today.

There you go, United can rest their entire first team for Everton in preperation for Madrid and even if they lose won't lose any ground to City.

I saw this too, he looked really old and sick like an alcoholic homeless man who's just been gifted a free haircut and wash. <peacedove>

To an extent, yes, but how exactly does that disprove the thrust of this thread? Ferguson is still 'biting the hand that feeds.' That other managers occasionally do so too doesn't change that.

Now now. You haven't yet understood that logical argument is not allowed when the topic relates to Ferguson.

Did anybody hear his post match interview on Radio 5? Parts of it were almost incoherent.

Well, I've expressed my view on the destructive effects of too much money in the game many times.
Not everybody shares that opinion though.
