Saying he's happy with what the owners/Nicola have done and with the signings so far......

Satisfied with the players he has in the squad, but if there's a player out there that can add to the squad they'd be welcome to join.

    Osvaldo question raised.

"I don't usually talk about players not in the club. I need to focus on the players I do have and the game on Saturday"

    Pochettino on Osvaldo:

"It's one of many names that have popped up in the summer. We've always worked behind doors with our signings and are always careful and private about our work. We've been very cautious, but there has always been good communication between me and Nicola. We signed players when we thought it was good for the club. There's a couple of weeks left of the window so there could be more signings."

    Mauricio Pochettino:

"I think the sky is the limit, we can't set ourselves limits. We have to be positive and ambitious about our goals for the season. We need to think to win every single game, they are all cup finals."

What do you consider a success this season?

"I think the sky's the limit. We can't set limits. We need to think positively and be ambitious. We need to think that we want to win every game. Every game is a final. After these games have passed, we can gauge how we've done this season. There are no limits."

    Mauricio Pochettino:

"Every game is different, especially when you go from one season to the next. There are different players with us and with them. So there are new seasons and completely different games. I'm the kind of manager that learns from every game. It's the first game of the season and that makes it extra special. We all start from zero points at the start of the season. It's going to be a very demanding, challenging and physical game. That gives it an extra edge. We've learned from our games against them last season."

    Mauricio Pochettino:

"It's clear to me that every single manager has their own style and brand of football. But details are changed and tweaked. Perhaps some tactical solutions may be changed during games. These are little things that we've worked on in pre-season. We will continue much the same but we will make some minor changes."

Basically, from the handbook I've been given, we now flag if the player can potentially influence the thought process.

This came about after last season when Papiss Cisse was behind Jonny Evans, in an offside position, prompting Evans to panic and play a stupid pass that resulted in a Newcastle goal. Basically, if you're offside and close enough to influence the decision making process, it's an offside call.

It's not really a change, just a clarification. Whether it actually clears anything up is a matter for debate of course!

That should be most of the time then! Surely, as a defender, you should always have your eyes on who's around you and as such it must influence your behaviour.
