Colour Film - Are Kodak still in business?
Well over 10 million rolls of 35mm colour films are still sold in the UK every year. Kodak nearly went bust around 3 years ago mainly due to their inability to change quickly when markets moved on but are now healthy and profitable, especially in their core market of printing. They haven't sold digital cameras for three years.
Polaroid went bust a few years ago, along with other well known photo brands such as Konica and Agfa. The brands were sold and various products have been sold since using those names.

CRT TV's

VCR's

Cassettee recorders and tapes

Wired tv remotes

Video shops.

Had a, maybe, 10-15 year heyday of being a feature on every high street, before slowly fading away.

And on that subject, Scotch video tapes.

Did anybody else have a Rediffusion set where you had to put sixpences in a slot in the back of the telly?

my grandma had a bakelite switch on the window ledge that you could point in different directions to get tv and radio stations - I used to work for Rediffusion down Beverley Road in the seventies - I got sacked for getting an evening job at Trog Bar instead of going to night school which they had paid for

There was one in the early 80s down Station Road in Cott. Behind Danish Bacon. By the woodyard. Just before Donkins. In a ****ing portacabin it was. VHS and Betamax. They probably had about 100 titles and a decent under the counter section. Had a lifetime membership but ended up banned for refusing to pay extra when I returned a title late.
