I'm quite pleased with the job he's doing at United. Slowly ensuring United fall further behind! On a serious note they've either got to back him with serious investment or get someone else in.

I wouldn't. Half the problem is United have backed themselves into a corner. They've brought in managers with proper CV's and they've not won the league so have been fired. Having tried successful managers they've now gone for a company man and former player with the hope he'll develop into a great manager. Trouble is there is little evidence to suggest he'll be the man to get them back so they're backing an unknown whilst slipping further behind and hoping things will get better. They're under pressure not to keep firing managers which hasn't worked out plus the fact he's a former player means they're putting up with more poor results than they would a non associated manager. They're in a proper tricky situation and its as a result of their own chopping and changing since Fergie. They're significantly worse than what they were under Van Gaal and Moyes. I bet they'd love to go back to Van Gaal and the squad he had and give him more time. They're in trouble atm and unless they sort it out quick they'll fall further behind.

Well yes you could say so. He played in a way that did end up in trophies. He did stink the place out with his attitude though but that could have been down to the fact he'd asked for more money and didn't get it. So he did what he had to do to get results, yes. I personally thought he was a poor fit at United. Not totally convinced at Spurs either - its very different from the entertaining football that I've associated Spurs with over the past 10 years or so. But if he's there long enough and backed then he could do something. I don't see him being backed massively though so I don't really know where the Spurs-Jose combination is heading. He's entertaining though I'll add that!

He would have known exactly what Mourinho is all about before employing him. Equally, Mourinho is very clear with what he wants in order to achieve his goals, and I have absolutely no doubts that he will have expressed this to Levy, during their contract negotiations. My view has always been that our board will spend the money if it believes success will be achieved and that the right manager is in place m The fact that the board didn't spend in Poch's last two seasons tells me that it didn't have enough faith in him. I genuinely believe that Mourinho is exactly the type of manager that we need, if we are to take our next step. And that next step is a massive one for the club. Nah I think its more likely Levy will have just fed Jose a bunch of horse **** and promised him the world and get him to sign, then will just renege and tell him to shut the **** up when Jose requests backing, as is Levy's MO.
Signing a big name in football like Jose brings attention to your club. He is certainly the most famous manager ever to manage Spurs, celebrity wise. People like my wife know his name even when she is not remotely interested in football. Doesn't matter to Levy what happens after that. As long as Jose's appointment brings global attention to the club and boosts merchandise sales and interest in Tottenham.
Well time will tell. I'm still not convinced on your sentiment with Levy. I think he just looks at the balance sheet. Can we afford the player? Will we get a return on that investment? I don't think success on the field is paramount for Levy - success for him is turnover and subsequent profit. We saw this with his decision to invest in a stadium rather than in a squad which was a small step from winning the league. I said at the time investment in the stadium would come at the expense of the league and that Poch and his team would fall by the wayside. That is exactly what has happened. It will be interesting to see if Levy backs Jose, because if he doesn't and Jose doesn't bring success with what he has, then the fans and media will jump straight on it and before you know Jose will go.
