After watching The game against Watford and the one against Brentford, I could not help but notice that we a lacking a deep lying midfielder, someone to be available for the defence to link up with. It may be that Kit wants us to play the long ball but I guess that is not what we have come to expect from the team in recent years.

Scott Parker is the natural playmaker but seemed to be unavailable a lot of the time, hence why, Bodurov in particular, just launches the ball up top. Sean Davis used to play the role brilliantly, always looking for the ball from the centre backs. I had thought that Emerson Hyndman was going to play that role but seems to have fallen out of favour. I would love to see him come back in a give us that little bit of composure back that we lack so much.

You have a point there. In cases where LVC has dropped back to that position the team plays much better and avoids the long-balls. Potentially Ruiz needs to make space for someone that goes back to help...

Completely agree with your point froggy. The main problem at the moment is that people are all over the place; there's no shape and nobody appears to be clear what their role is (or is that just an old cliche from Roy's days?). As for Bodurov, he's so slow and one footed, I doubt if it'd make a lot of difference. In earlier games he used to stop, switch the ball on his good foot and then pass it 10 yards to Parker; who by that time was marked. Or maybe that's why he's been told to just hoof it?
