Both your line ups contradict the OPs article, what would your line up be with NO new signings?
I would go with All Hail Ben Arfas selection

He would be wasted at CB, and would probably get demolished as well.

No it wasn't his first season he went on loan and played about 12 games at Blackburn too, played a few for Man Utd as well.

That team looks good, and if we take a lead it can switch into a 4-5-1 easily to block the midfield.

This one given what we have atm, but I would hope to bring in a few more players.

That's a more defensive formation at home than away!!!

I don't agree with a changed formation/team for home/away matches. It stops the team building a rhythm, and just causes problems.

This + Jonas, Shola and Lua Lua on bench for impact and the rest don't really matter.
I know there's a lot of Shola haters on here, but he's alright at playing the last 30 minutes. E.g vs Wigan (h) and Forest (h)

Why wouldn't you play HBA away from home? He can change a game in a heartbeat - Everton away being prime example.
And why not Barton at home instead of 'New DM'? Why play two DMs at home anyway?

Hope Marveaux lives up to his hype... guess we'll see in pre-season. I'd still be happy with Jonas, which is worst case scenario unless he gets sold.

Realistically, the Arsenal game line up (as the team is now), and since we dont know what will happen in pre season:

    ---------------Krul
    Simpson--Taylor--Colo--Enrique
    ----------Tiote----Cabaye
    Barton------Marveaux-----Jonas
    ----------------Ba

Realistically, we give Ben Arfa a few sub apps or reserve games to get fully fit, same for Gosling. Marveaux maybe as well, but he's been fit for a while now, only his club didnt play him because they knew he was leaving on a free. Jonas and Marveaux alternating in this formation.
