Hoping Johnson goes with a 4-3-3 as I can't see him changing to the 3-4-3 now. My fear is he'll go with the weird 4222 with O'Brien starting. Hoping to see ---------Burge------ CMac---Wright---O'Nien---Hume -----Gooch--Power--Scowen------ Jones------Wyke-------McGeady Gooch is a bit of a hybrid in this system. 3 man midfield without the ball, then Gooch pushing into the 10 when we are going forward. Maguire, Diamond and Stewart attacking options from the bench
Do you find McGeady is less effective when Jones plays. The two of them seem to want to outdo each other, with the tricks, rather than getting the cross in.
Yeah - that was in the Chronic but I can't find anything about a friendly - maybe they played the U23s.
Or they are saving it for the safc web site tomorrow. - it's strange though, usually someone will tweet the result or at least say who we played, even if it is "behind closed doors"
pressure on us ? they were top of the league in Feb they must be the most dissapointed out of us 4, anyway i reckon this is it we will get back to the way we were 2 months ago and win.
I've been disappointed in Jones recently I have to say. We need him and Mcgeady on top form if we stand any chance of getting promoted
Given how Diamond played at Sincil Bank earlier in the season, I would have him in instead of Jones, at least for the away leg.
He's definitely not a starter imo, at least Gooch puts in a shift every game. And I know it's not a popular opinion but O'Brien benefits Wyke more than Jones. I'm expecting Johnson to go for the win at Lincoln tbh ... ... if he does I think we'll get it.
I hope Gooch doesnt play right wing. Their Leftback is pretty good and had him in his back pocket the last couple of times we played them.
Id play.... ....................Burge................... McLaugh....Wright......Onien.....Hume ................Leadbitter....Power........... Jones............Gooch............Mcgeady.. ........................Wyke................
I have also gone for a draw, but that scares the s hit out of me given our home form...hope LJ has this addressed, maybe having fans in the stadium will help
Lee Johnson has given an update on the numbers he has available at his disposal for Wednesday's Sky Bet League One Play-Off semi-final first leg at Lincoln City. Following numerous defensive absences for large parts of the season, the Head Coach confirmed he has players back in contention. "We have more options and we'll almost certainly have a surplus in the squad," Johnson said. "It's sleepless nights on not so much the starting XI, but the bench. We'll be travelling with 20-21 players. "There are a couple out whom I won't reveal just yet; we also have a couple back which helps us a lot." The gaffer added that with the lengthier period of preparation for the semi-final following our last league outing against Northampton Town over a week ago, many of his squad have been able to take some time away from the training ground to recharge. "The boys had the weekend off, which is very good for them holistically," explained Johnson. "It's very important mentally for the players and staff to spend time with their families and be at home. They're a support mechanism which doesn't get enough credit. "They've come back fully focused now on the task at hand."
Despite what the pro-pessimists believe I think there's a good team spirit and Johnson has the backing of the players
