Got me there uber.... Do you mean wrong end of the stick? So ....the controversial quote Wheeler made was that we started well against Forest and we were a tad unlucky....OK I agree Wheeler was delusional about that
I'm more impressed by what he says than what I've seen from him on the pitch so far, excepting his first goal scoring appearance. But then in his recent games he's looked like he''s been a part of Ollie''s desparate search for a wing back, which is probably new to Wheeler as well.
Such a great quote! Had the football media guessing what on earth he was talking about for ages. No body knows to this day, including himself. Maybe it was about beer adverts?!
I started by asking why the club is allowing it and you responded by telling me I was wrong... because the club is allowing it. I just find it faintly embarrassing is all. You (and probably others) don’t and that is fine. I guess I’d rather he got some game time and built up a rapport with the fans through his work on the pitch rather than on a soapbox. Just me, I’m sure. Just a bit irritable today.
Irritability is understandable and forgiveable Ubes. As it happens I agree with you on this one, I don’t think an employer should be giving a platform for an employee to talk politics, however bland and anodyne or well meaning their views, unless somehow it serves an objective of the company and reflects company policy. If he wants to publish a blog privately somewhere that’s a different matter.
Exactly Stan ...it does and that is why it is out there on the QPR page. It is a club initative...The club initiative this Saturday. I thought what we are arguing about was why Wheeler is writing a blog for the QPR web page ever week..."Wheeler on Wednesday". I am thinking this is just something to argue about when there is no football to argue about....I'm fully responsible, as slightly itching to get rid of my Nottingham Forest nightmare ........so will drop out of this arguement and look for something for the food drop. I hope no-one smuggles in a tin of peas and lobs it at the referee on Saturday
It's Wheeler on Wednesday, not QPR. So as long as his views aren't diverging wildly from the Company''s profile I see no reason why they shouldn't be given a platform. Makes a change from the usual bland soundbites from players.
So this is the official position of the shareholders of QPR on successive British governments and the distribution of wealth in the U.K.? “catastrophic failure of recent governments to tackle inequality in our society. Since the financial crash of 2008, caused by greedy reckless bankers, the rich have accumulated a greater percentage of global wealth, whilst more and more people are struggling to maintain a basic standard of living. It is obvious this trend cannot continue” I stand corrected. I love it when billionaires and multi millionaires are secret revolutionaries, and to be fair they have given away a some (a fraction) of their wealth to football agents and players. Giving to food banks and arguing for wealth distribution (both of which I support) are totally different things. If my club supports the latter I want to know about it. I’m sure it will boost our support, all those dudes paying a fortune to go and see St Pauli in Hamburg because can come to Shepherds Bush instead.
Sorry, Beth told me that the views expressed were club policy and vetted and approved by the club, and I can’t see any disclaimer that they are ‘personal comments’. I don’t have any problems with his views I just doubt that a club website is the place for them. Detach the message from the medium.
Wheeler has said this on the front page of the website... ...there are no disclaimers of any sort pro or con... Hoos is in the same picture. The necessity for food banks is a shameful indictment of the current state of our nation...I do not think of this as political I think of it as a fact...It is a disgrace that it happens.
Actually Ubers.... You are being helpful. I am getting a bit overheated....Will go away and play with a fluffy kitten to chill out.... Have you got one
