Bielsa, if he decides to stay would demand certain things. 1) Retain players he deems neccessary. 2) Make investments in the training facilities he deems neccessary. 3) Two players for every position (some will be U23's if he deems them good enough). He is unlikely to demand a big budget but will have the final say on any recruitment. Doesn't sound like much but it will be non-negotiable.
Or he may wish to return to Argentina to be with his family. Not the sort of person it's wise to second guess is what I'm saying.
It's an interesting debate about why Bielsa came to England this time as he'd been asked before and declined, so why Leeds and why not a team in the PL ? The obvious answer is we took the time and effort to ask him in the right way. Bielsa doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who seeks a coaches job, which means it's up to clubs to approach him and maybe the big teams in the PL were just too lazy in their homework to appreciate the genius that he is. It's well documented now that it was Victor Orta who suggested to Radrizani that Bielsa was the best coach in the world. Orta also said, we probably wouldn't get him and so it was Radrizani's determination to at least try that set the wheels in motion. Victor Orta told this quite amazing story; " After making intitial contact with Marcelo we (Victor & Radz) flew to Buenos Aries to meet and discuss the possibilty of him taking over. On the morning of the meeting I was trying to call Marcelo just to check all was well and we were still on. Repeated calls went unanswered and I thought that maybe it wasn't going to happen and I'd look pretty stupid flying my owner half way round the world for nothing. Then my phone rang, it was Marcelo and he told me to come to the meeting room in our hotel. He'd been there alll the time, setting up a presentation about Leeds, the players, everything. The detail was amazing and we knew then we had a chance to get him to come to Leeds ". Something about Leeds, our history, our fans, our city made him accept but only he knows why he decided to accept the seemingly impossible challenge of resurrecting one of English footballs sleeping giants.
