Dont agree with the shopping on line if you are talking about Music , books , bakery stuff and meat . We are spoilt here though .
Have to admit, over the past 4 months since lockdown slowly eased (in relation to my job mainly) I've gradually gone back to the same routines. It's largely because of the job tbh. Maybe it's the commitment to it or the old saying of living to work rather than working to live that seems to be the thing in this country more than most others. Having said that, I've managed to keep one day working from home throughout and that's allowed me to do more things with the kids. Because they were off so much due to lockdown and because their schools finished early, it meant we could spend more time together. Whether it'll be as good as that going forward or things will go back to the way they were before, I've really appreciated having that time with them. They're getting to an age where I can see they like doing their own things so in a way I'm grateful, it's the one positive I may never have experienced if it wasn't for Covid. Weird eh. I've found time to run, play tennis and go swimming again recently. Also taken an interest in a bit of gardening, pottering around planting all sorts including a cherry tree. I'm currently removing and replacing a 20 ft section of hedge in the back garden.... got me a fcking pick axe I've been wielding like a **** (tbh more like a 12 year old girl throwing a ball with her left hand). I'd like to say I'll continue with it all, but I've got a feeling work will dictate things.
I'm lethal with stuff like chainsaws, best i'm banned from using them. I'm lethal with anything to be fair, once was firing an air rifle and nearly popped my instructor, well weren't my fault, my finger caught the trigger.
His fault for not taking one look at you and thinking, no way I'm letting you near any air rifle Tbh mate I used a hedge trimmer. No fcking way I trust myself with a chainsaw either. At one point I almost fell off the ladder and made sure I threw the hedge trimmer as far as I could
Sod off the pick axe and get a mattock, made for the job. Did the same last spring, took a run of Hazel down, those roots go down forever, took 2 of us 3 days, bastard things
Nothing has changed for me, well except switching depots. I've not had a single day off due to covid, refused to download that ****ing app. People taking the piss, bone idle ****s. I still avoid shopping at peak times, maybe this isn't down to covid, more i dislike ****s shopping, shops bring out the worst in people. It's been a weird 18 months for me, lonely yet busy... Getting the flat done up at moment, but still got a **** car... Anyone wanna buy a Yaris
Having used both, the Mattock is much better on roots, get one with a decent weight, 3-5 lbs, they do a 1 LB one but you would get a lot of vibration up the handle from those. https://www.wonkeedonkeetools.co.uk...he terms 'pickaxe',narrow chisel at the other.
Sound mate. Yeh I been using the narrow chisel end of the pick axe. I've got to remove the middle section of the hedge, some sort of fungus infection so the roots have to be completely out, replace and treat the soil, then replant a resistant strain probably Spring next year. Missions! I'll have to go out and get it as I can't be fcking around for days on this.
Here mate, I didn't realise those shopping picking distribution centres were run by robots? Was a massive fire in Erith, after two of the fookers collided. 220,000 orders down the swanny.
Hard work mate, if you can get hold of some horse muck now, get it cover it in polythene and it will be well rotted by next spring, as long as no wood chips in it, then dig it into the soil a couple of weeks before planting the new stuff. Gives em a great start and grow quicker and healthier.
