That's the chap, win at all costs. Now going brilliant at Athletico Madrid. They are always skint, it shouldn't take too much to prize him away.

??? I could be really disparaging here, this is just typical statto rubbish. Power, you get nothing for xx pts, nothing. You do however get rewards for league placing. It is ridiculous to compare points as there are many variables at other clubs, not just ours each season that affect a total. You can win this league with 95 points as Chelsea have, or 75 as United have. I don't think SAF will cry too much into his beer because he never won any of his titles and beat Mourinho with 96 points!

You should only set people targets they have control over. All our manager can do is win a certain number of points. If others do better than we expect it's not his fault. That's what I meant. I'm not a statto and it's not rubbish.

"Come back Jol, Harry, or anyone else that didn't quite get enough points...its not your fault, its the others for being better than you!!"

Thats it mate I give up with you...not being funny, I just don't want to be wasting my time with this anymore.

No, because it is Bull - THe objectives are made with certain pre-requisites studied and in place:
Recent History and trends - Very good signs 4th or 5th for past 5 seasons
Money spent on squad - Impressive outlay on 6/7 players totalling over 100M - Wages now spiralling - A top 5/6 side in terms of wages
Management - 2nd full year, so any 1st year glitches expected to be ironed out

    So let's start with:

A minimum and maximum placing at end of Season -
Minimum is probably 4th/5th as long as this is accompanied by substantial Cup success -most probably FA or EL winners.
Maximum - Well, that would most probably be 2nd/3rd if the objectives were set fairly.
Points total - Whatever it takes to get those positions as everyone needs to play against the same teams the same No. of times!!!!

Go defend the indefensable, this man has no character, no ability to sustainably galvanise and motivate a group of men, this is no leader, you gambled, it failed - Suggest you move on quick as otherwise this Season is a gonner and most probably for a few more to come.

Goodnight AVB - The poor mans Mourinho

But it's more complicated than that as you need to assess in every match how much risk your are prepared to take to make a lead bigger or make a draw into a win. It is reasonable to make such decisions based on the expected out-turn from your competitors. If they do better than that then that is tough. Always going for a win when you are drawing is clearly a stupid strategy as is trying to hold on to a one goal lead. What criteria would you use?

Firstly, I'm going to have to apologise as deciphering your meaning and the point you're trying to make is not that easy -
If I were the Chairman it would revolve around the placings and placings only as that's what earns the money, I might put in some objectives as to a points expectation against the Top 7/8 clubs and then a relative No. for the remaining.
The position assesment is black and white -You succeed or you haven't - the other criteria allows for too many hard luck stories.

If a Chairman then believes that there is sufficient mitigation for the failure it is up to them as to how they will steer the club onwards. If, the position and trends are so negative and with equally negative trends, then it is best to part ways before a totally unacceptable malaise sets in.

From what I see and taking into account you have 6/7 new players in at a cost of 100M and you have had 3/4 players leave with an income circa 100M, taking into account Man City,Everton,Liverpool,Arsenal strengthening and a weak Chelsea and M.United the current position is unacceptable - this is compounded by the Manager overseeing a Minus goal difference, general poor forward play and the crux - 2 humiliating defeats to Liverpool and especially West Ham. The Chairman is in an awful position, his default position is to fire in the knowledge that this might be the only way to save the Season and more importantly those to come, but, he is also heavily tainted with this hiring which most thought was an extreme riskmade with the positive that if it worked out, you would have one over the Chelsea.

AVB showed a distinct lack of humour, motivational skills, general media saviness, man management during his tenure with Chelsea, he looks equally out of his depth with Spurs. Get yourself Hiddink for the remainder of the year and pray that Atletico fall away as Simeone would be perfect for you but it will be a hard sell to prise from the Vicente Calderon.

Bale - An educated guess was on 100,000 a week max - As our manager who knew quite a bit about your pay roll stated that the highest earner was on 65,000 I've factored in almost 50% your side to cater for his "porkies".
    Dempsey - 50,000 a week?
    BAE - 32,000 a week -
    Carroll - 20,000 a week

Capoue, Chadli, Lamela, Soldado, Paulinho, Eriksen, Chiriches -

Soldado - 65,000 a week -matched your highest earner
Eriksen - Reported as 2nd highest earning Danish footballer behind Agger - So more than the 48 a week that Bendtner gets
Lamela - Do you think he signs for less than 40 a week?
Paulinho - The same 40 at least?
The Cs - Combined 100 a week for the 3 of them?

    So that's 300 a week as opposed to 200. A 50% increase is a spiral in anyone's language - Wouldn't you say?

And I do believe I'm being conservative with the incoming players and somewhat liberal with the outgoing -yes.

So (as expected) , you don't actually have facts.
No doubt you in the past you probably believed the wage bill "spiralled" in 2011-12 from 2010-11 too.
Feel free to revisit this in the future when the THFC 2013-14 accounts are released (ie 2015) .

Just hope that this has now gone to show that the man has little or no future in the game. Really poor acquisition by Levy that has potentailly set you back 2 years.

Spurs this season have been like The Crystal Maze with ed Tudor Pole - it may have looked like Spurs, yet it never felt quite right...now let's see that get repeated a few hundred times on Twitter!

All the coaching staff going, the temporary fill-in or the new manager, if someone's been lined up. I'd have thought that Baldini would've been given a heads up after City battered us.

The Torygraph are suggesting Baldini for the job...which would make him an Italian Avram Grant.
