Pearl Jam aren't really heavy metal, and Metallica basically left that genre behind in the 80s. Smashing Pumpkins are definitely worth getting to know.

To add to the list: Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Rage Against The Machine, Weezer, Tool, Cypress Hill, Faith No More, Alice in Chains...

Ah, gotta love Pixies......probably my favourite '90s album is "Grand Prix" by Teenage Fanclub from 1995 although it borrows heavily from the '60s folk rock genre....

Well renaissance may have been a bit strong, but you've gotta admit mainstream music nowadays on a whole is much better than mainstream music a few years back.

If anything, it's getting worse, hence why I find myself listening to stations like Radio 1 less and less.

I put a DAB radio in my car just so I can listen to Radio 6 Music when I'm driving. It's the only station worth listening to if you don't like pop ****.

Just to mention that I'm taking down everyone who has said and/or implied that Taylor Swift is anything less than incredible.

By far the most popular two of their three albums were 90s so I'll count it as 90s.

They still dress and act the same on stage. I'm not sure if that's awesome or sad.
