3 days, 3 interviews, taking me from Birmingham to Canterbury. Tiring!

 

I also had interviews at Birmingham and Canterbury in 1972, as well as at Leeds and Imperial. Ended up going to Imperial, which was a bad move.

 

Why was Imperial a bad move?

Otherwise known as inhabitants of South Kensington. Bit of a culture shock for a lad from Andover! I was also totally unprepared for how hard I was expected to work at my course.

 

I switched on the aeroplane mode in my mobile phone , now I can't find the bloody thing !!!!!

 

Presuming for unis... University of Kent at Canterbury or Canterbury Christ Church University?

Canterbury is lovely either way my missus spent 3 years there leaving last year.

 

Anybody else having trouble with BBC's iPlayer..? Every programme I select I get media selection request failed.

Seems like the server is down.

EDIT: Also on the BBC Sport website. Everywhere else works including Youtube, Dailymotion, etc...

EDIT Again: Never mind. Many people are having the same problem.

EDIT Yet Again: The fault was mine, but shared by many. Somehow I'd disabled JavaScript in Firefox. iPlayer worked fine in IE8, of all places. Re-enabling solved it. If this means nothing to you, perhaps the next time iPlayer doesn't work in your browser you may remember this post.

Canterbury Christ Church, seemed an alright uni. Didn't see much of Canterbury itself, but liked all the history and ruins and stuff.

Weird the interview at Canterbury there were people from all the different subject all together, while at Bham it was very individual. Was quite nice to meet other people going for PGCEs.

 

That was mine. Good people. Would still advise you to go to Plymouth though, if possible.

 

Rumour that they may have found 'wreckage' of the missing plane.

 

I didn't buy that hijacked and landed somewhere safe stuff...the hijackers would have publicised it by now. May still have been hijacked...just not successfully.

 

Ruckus going on about Irish police dumping an unconscious woman in a bus lane instead of on the pavement. A longer video shows her going for the police as they had put her arrested boyfriend in a car...I suspect they thought anyone who could run to attack them was capable of walking. They ran to their car before she could kick off again. Whilst I think they should have put her on the pavement instead of in a potentially dangerous position, I am fed up with people who care so little about themselves that they get drunk and incapable, then expect others to be responsible for them. An error of judgement will no doubt get these officers reprimanded/sacked, but this woman should take some responsibility for what happened to her.

I think most people did. I don't follow college basketball but I have a lot of American sports dudes on Twitter and everyone seems quite upset.
