I would not rush in until we have a team better than we have....It's sods law they begin the expansion and we get relegated....We must first win over the populous of the white rock area that not just effects the local residence but the traders also. they dont approve and will block any move to start building while there is not enough parking and other issues. They want their customers able to shop on a Saturday and not get grid locked where they will stop shopping after mid day and they will lose trade......I can fully understand that.....
News is coming in that the Yanks have got a 37 year lease on the Liberty for £300,000 a year. Is this too much to expect from a League 2 club?
Support the yanks ?? Most of us did for a whole season and look what they have done to the club !........I wish they would go ASAP and take Jenkins and pearlman with them.....We deserve better for the support our wonderful fans have had to put up with even if it means relegation to make it happen...
Sorry Dai but most didn't support them myself included ,we were willing grudgingly to give them time but the writing was on the wall when the sale of the Club behind the trusts back went through . I agree that the supporters deserve so much more than the crap we've been dealt, we were under no illusions when Petty took over the Club at least he had the decency to fug off , this lot are still here intending to screw every last penny they can squeeze out of us and if that means we fall through the leagues they won't care as long as their already swollen bank balances keep getting bigger .What Jenkins and Co have done is unforgiveable ,to **** on their own is beyond anything we could ever have envisaged and that's what hurts the most with so many in the area dependant on earning a living from the Club , you watch the cuts when the dream is over .
Who resurrected this thread? ............ It's clear that the boardroom is full of nuggets, they spend most of their focus on the Stadium when the team it was built for is falling apart? You really could't make this up, talk about putting the 'Cart before the Horse', it beggars belief that all this is going on, at a time when we have lost our footballing identity, and are crashing out of the PL so soon into the season. The project has come far too late, better that they focus on the mess we have on the field now, it's embarrassing to watch............
But Phil - the Yanks will see this as an opportunity to add profit to the bottom line (naming rights, synergy benefits aka taking out costs such as duplication of roles eg finance dept etc). If that can improve the bottom line by £1m-£2m, then that could help lift the potential selling price of the Club by a multiple of say 5 to 10 times. That said, it would surely be catastrophic for them to see the Club relegated - unless they intend exiting pdq
Taff the trouble with all that marketing, is one thing! They need the PL, without what it gives world wide as exposure , they are sunk like a big bolder........
Agreed Phil - but their focus on quickly attempting to grow value has seen them take their eye off the core business - namely fielding a competitive team that can secure PL status. That's why they may decide to flip the Club ASAP
Pearlman has eyes i presume and so do the yanks.....They dont care what league we are in, All they care about is the assets they can buy with the intention of selling and making a killing...They dont have to sell to one person or consortium either they could sell different parts to different people that could gain them more and that is what pearlman is here for....
