Yeah it was a combination of not seeing the point in going to a pub, only so much soft drink you can drink and them getting more and more pissed and becoming annoying. The only things I really leave my house for are work, gym, playing sport and going to the pub so was pretty easy to become a hermit.
At the time I was not drinking one of my mates was also trying to do it. Spoke to him a few times and was like "yeah lets do something" but couldn't really think of anything that we wanted to do apart from the gym that didn't involve the pub/alcohol. Cinema? nah. Bowling? nah. Maybe I just have a limited imagination. When I go to the pub/bar it tends to be with quite a few people, rarely just 2 or 3 of us. So if I asked any of them to do something they would most likely just go to the pub with the others instead as they're main socialising place is there. Would probably be different now as I have a dog so could just take him out whenever I get bored. Poor ****er would be knackered every day after massive long walks.
Have you tried the alcohol free lagers that are available @Libby well done in your year, did you try them
