..........Has stated that he intends to return to pre season training ahead of the rest of the squad - to get sharp and ready for nest season.
THIS is the type of commitment about which I often mention - that I would like to see from all the squad. It shows his intent. I am genuinely impressed.
I don't think that we have used tactics that could get the best out of Nash. I hope that he can be given a decent run in the side -- and perhaps play him with Eaves - just like Akinfenwa and McDonald (( but Eaves needs to remain in the middle )). I believe that with a fit Garmston on the left and O'Neil on the right, we have players who can provide crosses - to be won by Eaves - and for Nash to 'feed off' him (( we saw a small glimpse of this type of play against Plymouth - and I wasn't surprised that Tom profited )).
I am quite a fan of 'old-fashioned' wing play / crossing of the ball. We are unlikely to have any real quality, creative midfielders ( a-la-Dack ), and need to use all available strengths as a route to goal. Eaves, with his height and physicality rarely got enough crosses ( or in the middle to receive them ), and we struggled to score much last season - - my theory isn't rocket science - and has always stood the test of time.
