Our idiot Sporting Director apparently gave him a 4 year contract on top of the payouts we have agreed with the 2 Head Coaches he sacked in the previous 2 seasons. An American owner, a Sporting Director out of his depth, a Head Coach who refuses to change his failing tactics and a squad of expensive unfit players who have turned out to be not worth the money spent - sums us up precisely.

Hogg took over and changed our season, Manning came back after a time off and we reached the playoffs.

I'm a big fan of both Nige and Cotts and also suffered from dreary Manningball but LM did make us a top six Championship club, he deserves credit for that, it's up there, the most successful manager (Final Position Wise) since GJ days, he chose to leave and move on, we now have Gerhard Struber, with him we have also moved on, he has also inherited the Jon boy and Tinman framework, ' Blessed are the poor in spirit'

I find it hard to understand why Bell went on loan and we kept Armstrong and Maylu.

Although it is what it is maybe Bell getting 90 minutes v sub appearances is the plan ... bring him back January and then SEND Mayulu out to replace him? or sell on Armstrong?

You are correct, he got us to the play-offs!! The other 2 did nothing like that.
We was quoted 7 million for him, we then went and got Riis. He eventually joined QPR for 5 million. Which we could not afford as we blew the wad last summer on the other two.

We took on RIIS, yes, proving himself ...slowly ... ! however that gave us "3 strikers" well 4 including Bell! So RIIS took over from Nahki a big saving in wages [ about 40% of them?] so wage increase wouldnt have been an issue. The fact you pay £5 or £7 million is not instant ... most transfer money is done on "interest free" payments. [ thats why a number ofclubs get in the mire when it turns out they have not yet paid for a player a year or more after he signed!
It can be said that staying in the black is ideal ... or even being floating along on the £30m as opposed to £40 million for 3 - 4 - 5 years doesnt look good not really that bad!
SL has a mindset of "making money work for you" not being in debt but investing in the future .... it is the backbone of his "theory for BCFC" IT WORKS but not for so clearly for FOOTBALL CLUBS.
IT IS A SORT OF SPECULATE TO ACUMULATE ..... part of my work history was trained as a financial advisor [ in selling theatre of work ] I advised people that taking out a loan / debt was better than using your savings [ assets ] in football spending £5 million is a speculation [ Kone ] his age and team was a restriction to his fee .. already there are estimates he is worth in excess £10 -15m ... simply because he has scored a few and fitted into championship football .......... think BELL has gone the opposite was establishing in Championship now playing lower league!!!!! to finish 6th based on current averaging they need to get 75+ pts for 6th. so 36 games left is they need 1.87 points a game CITY NEED 1.64 its about another 67 points for them need to be on 32 points after 23 games and 59 for us. 37 points after 23 games.

Top 6 is the last thing on our minds. If we lose on Saturday away at Derby we will be in the relegation zone!! An American owner who knows nothing about the game, a Sporting Director who is completely out of his depth and a Head Coach who doesn't seem capable of motivating the tea lady - what possibly could have gone wrong!! 4 years ago we had an owner who loved the Club, a Sporting Director who could buy the likes of Pukki and Buendia for peanuts and Daniel Farke as Head Coach. Happy days!!
