You never went in the King George IV in the Harrow Road, West London then. I used to play Saturday nights in there. My God I saw some fights. Last time I was down that way I noticed someone had turned it into a wine bar I will never feel surprised about anything ever again
when I lived in Shepton I did the 'Wells twelve' one night, I bet if I went back now half of them would be now shut down, except the one on hot fuzz sorry shiny your thread wasn't really a thread. a bit like me saying Katie Price has split up with her BF so now I'm going to shag her...
Yes indeed Shiny ! I've not seen that much drug trading or taking as I get stuck into the Stella and let the world pass me by...! The quality of the Stella is some of the best I've had anywhere by the way, which unfortunately doesnt make up for the rest of the majority of the customers, who on a Friday evening seem to be made up entirely of white van drivers
Bloody hell, you lot have been living the high life. Used to drink in Easton/Whitehall/Redfield/Barton Hill in the likes of The Queens Head, The Little Russell, The Redfield, The Nelson, The Greenbank and many, MANY more. Not my neck of the woods but the ex used to live there... The World's End is positively up market in comparison and I think you would be treading carefully if you didn't know the locals...
I bought a TR7 convertible near there. Awesome fanny-magnet. I was 20 at the time with a 2-litre sports car. Happy days. My girlfriend had her own house and loads of money too - a proper toyboy I was!
Rough you thought you had it rough, when I was a teenager we had to drink between the hours of 11-3 and 6-11pm and get home to graze the sheep You city dwellers had all the longer opening hours
"You city dwellers had all the longer opening hours" As I remember it the country dwellers had all the longer opening hours and all the lock ins! Shiny I been in the Imperial all night tonight, were you in there?
Prem - I used to work in Pennywell Road and myself and colleagues (on shift) used to frequent The Great Engineer, The Armoury, Waggon & Horses, Lebeques, The Eagle, The Crown, Stag & Hounds, The Long Bar, Printers Devil, 7 Ways, Sportsman and many MANY others in and around Easton/Stapleton Road/Old Market area Rough doesnt come close to describing some of these, most are sadly long gone, but many happy years (16!!) were spent in these pubs
