Another article on sky about Nunez and lack of finishing.

Seems like after every other game he doesn’t score a new article pops up saying same thing.

1 - he has lots of shots
2 - his conversion rate is poor
3 - his actual shots are hitting target so are being saved
4 - despite this klopp says he’s vital to team and team is unbeaten this season when he plays

Not sure why it’s really needed. Funny was no mention after his goal v Burnley but back to normal after yesterday.

Thing is, don’t see these articles about individual players elsewhere. Nunez is a wide player that has played upfront a few times.

Saka has 6 goals from wide right.
nunez has 5 from wide left
Jesus has 3 from up front
Garnacho has 3 from wide left
Rashford has 3 from wide left
Martinelli has 2 from wide left
Kulusevski has 5 from wide right
Grealish has 3 from right left

really don’t get what the obsession is with him.

Yes he could score more. But as klopp says more to football than just scoring and he obviously creates way more. We’re top of the league. Top scorers in the league. Into LC semi. Into FAC 4th round. Top of Europa league.

Not sure Nunez only scoring as many as all his rivals in those positions is really a problem

It is tedious, but the vibe has actually changed a little imo - it's less bashing him and more questioning just what the ceiling would be if he was more clinical.

Either way, I'm glad he's with us <ok>

I'd be interested to see Goals-Per-Minute of Liverpool when Darwin is and isn't playing.

I'd strongly suspect we score more goals when he is on the field than when he is off... whether or not he is the one scoring them. Yeah, he should score more than he does, but as long as he is helping the team score, I forgive him.

He's not got the same status in the squad as Salah, or Suarez. He's not as good as some players we've had... but he's still very useful.
If someone offered us silly money for him, I'd accept and feel comfortable we could replace him, but I'm quite happy him staying in the team and see no reason to force a replacement. He has a job and a role.

As long as we're winning games, Nunez's finishing doesn't bother me. It's not like Salah, generally recognised as a world class player, is particularly clinical either. However, I do think he's better off when Jota is in the side.

we lives with mane firmino and salah missing chances just fine. Its only when the really big big game comes along and you only make one chance that this is really an issue.

We are making lots of chances. we miss a lot. we score a lot.
