He will get the same reply Klopp got. We will have get used to game’s being fixed in the premiership one day.
I still can't work out what the defender was doing. He had his arm up in that position because the cross was even attempted
So was I. I was fearing a last minute cock-up until that moment. Derby games are no fun any more, and this one certainly wasn't. Red cards on either side ruin the game as a contest. I thought Ashley Whatsiname's second yellow was harsh, tbh. It was a genuine attempt to get the ball, imo. I didn't see much of the Konaté one so don't want to say either way. So, we were a bit lucky, but I'll take it.
It can be a genuinely attempt but still a booking. He wasn't close to the ball and kicked Diaz's ankle. Clear yellow for me. (He also kicked the ball away just beforehand and it went unpunished).
I think my issue is, where both challenges enough to see a player miss a portion of the game, I'd have to say no. Considering how bad a challenge needs to be to get a red card, yellow get waved about for very little it seems. I'd much rather a game finish 11 v 11 & be entertaining than the drab affair that usually occurs once a team has gone down to 10 men.
Ally McCoist constantly amazed that we break out quickly from defending. Has he not watched us for the last 8 years, then? He'll be expressing surprise that the FBs are on the wrong side after a corner next. Darren Fletcher does my head in with his constant prattling instead of giving a commentary.
Personally I'd give a free kick for that and reserve a yellow for either a challenge reckless enough to warrant it, or a cynical attempt to bring down the man. I didn't think it was either. I'll take it, of course - given the **** we've been handed out lately, but I'm just trying to be even-handed here.
A Derby win, a clean sheet and top of the league for a few hours. But the performance was laboured, I hate the 12.30 kick off after an International break, Diaz was tired but Gravenberch looks very good on the ball. We got a bit of luck, long overdue
Always nervy when you go in to the last half hour goalless in a game like that. No question that was a pen.,you can't hang the arm out these days
Think Ally way on the sauce last night or something. He's usually a decent commentator but he was being a dick today
he was a joke. arm slightly away from body is what he said. what an utter joke of a comment. what he should have said was oh I know that's a yellow but refs need to avoid giving cards too early so players can kick someone later. both young and konate knew exactly what they were doing for their first fouls. both were yellow. I am fully sure at the next pgmol conference they will be playing that foul and warning refs to keep cards in their pockets.
Does seem that sometimes a red and going down to 10 men for what are 2 soft yellows can seem over the top. Especially when yellows can’t be reviewed so like Jota’s 2 weeks ago. Yellows can be fished out so easily now especially with the kicking ball away etc. I know the games always been this way so unlikely to change. Would 3 yellows = a red be better? Maybe 2 yellows you stay on but miss the next match? Or 2 yellows is a 10 minute sin bin? Nobody wants to see teams go down to 10 men for 2 soft tackles, especially where yellows are given for slightly mistimed tackle when speed of game is so quick these days that only have to be fraction of second slow
Derby win always nice even if the performance wasn't the best. Definite red card. Definite penalty. Konaté second yellow, not sure.
First one was deliberate he's gone there deliberately to take diaz out to prevent a breaking run. the second one is no different to vvd tackle when he got the ball, except Mr Young didn't get the ball.
