this is a good one. its not like its an awful "gap" 8 or 9 years ago but you can clearly see what could only be called a massive bubble for spending by certain clubs. Some can afford it as they get their money is unethical ways. however the issue has got to be that by any normal business logic is that barcelona should be bankrupt. someone in banks somewhere is allowing them to pay wages.
IMO the issue he has is he is still seen as a Chelsea flop by some seriously though he failed once so his season of 40+ goals is seen as a one off subconsciously. the guys record is approaching Rush good. he blows all the others away totally. torres? flash in the pan, owen? nowhere near, folwer? robbed himself tbh. Suarez only played one full season and even that wasn't full. he did things that salah has preplicated but is viewed as something extra sepcial. Why? I think its part of our collective persona. Salah instantly was in tuxedos going getting personal accolades. he's viewed as separate to the team, we allow peoepl to call him a greedy diver. Suarez was a half lunatic biter who was also a racialist. he got t-shirts and his barca career after only further pushed his legend. the guy that was treated badly, the guy everyone was jealous of. Like mane is given far more love than salah on the old interwebs. But who's the guy the real fans sing the name of? Mane is a lovely fellow, nothing against the lad as he is simple crucial to everything but he gets plaudits cos he's in the background as a team man. never mind the fact he's a nast little C on the pitch. its all loved. Salah is THE player that is the icing on top for some. Some point to firmino, some mane
Errrm, I think you've got this the wrong way round. Its because he's part of the team that he doesn't get the adoration he maybe deserves. Hes part of an attacking trio that on their day is the best in the world. The others mentioned where class is an otherwise average team.
I don't think so unless you think the media are not making him into a big enough star. We've been through peak Torres hysteria. Suarez didn't get the same adulation. Salah is after doing well every season and has played a major part in our success, but imo people idolized a lot of players but I've not seen anything near Torres levels before or after the guy left. I will admit something i never ever mentiomed before, i happen to know someone who took Fernando as their middle name aged 12 and are still to this day walking around like that. I do know if people who've done stupid tattoos and **** as well. There's not too many that fall into that kind of hysteria. No salah is not under rated by real fans imo. But equally that kind of hysteria is reserved for klopp himself now Nobody can hold a torch to klopps shining light
Interesting factlet Klopp first 100 games with Liverpool 50 wins Ole first 100 games with United 55 wins Never judge someone on stats alone
Mohamed Salah needs just 1 more Premier League goal to equal Cristiano Ronaldo’s PL goal tally (67 fewer games). And just 2 more to equal Eden Hazard’s PL goal tally (116 fewer games). One of the great wide men in Premier League history.
Early days but looks like we made the right decision going for Jota over Werner ... please log in to view this image
Bit early to judge. Werner has gone into a complete different chelsea team where ring to bed 3 new attackers into a team that were ok last season. Jota has come into the current prem champions with a settled side. Early signs look good for Jota, but let’s judge him over a season. I think werner will score more goals but he’s expected to in the system chelsea play compared to us.
Interesting charts to show how our full backs are not going forward as much since VVD is injured. I expect this to be same or get worse with both VVD and Gomez out ... please log in to view this image
Georginio Wijnaldum has won 133 of his first 200 matches for Liverpool. The best ratio for any player in the club's history. ------------------------------- I have been critical of him at points but I can't dispute his contribution to this team. Been a brilliant and vital player for us.
If Liverpool never scored any goals they would lose more games than they win. Another interesting "fact"
