We've had some bloody quality Scottish players over the years, they'd form a formidable team if put together in their primes.
Watched all the game today and the one player that stood out and got Motm was Thiago.He was oozing class just a pity we never got him in his hey day and pre injuries.
I remember at the time that my sister's mate, who works at the club (tenuous enough?), said they were more concerned about Richarlison's attempted knee-amputation on him than the unpunished kung fu attack on Virgil by Prickford. They knew VVD would be out for the season, but they also knew Thiago's injury was career-altering, if not career-ending. Though he'd never relied on basic pace for his game, say, like a Szobbo, Gerrard, or Mo, they knew his ability to twist and turn would never be the same, and it wasn't. The number of lunges and desperate swiping kicks he made when he came back six months later was not at all what we'd seen in his Bayern days.
I do remember as well Ancellotti sympahising with... Richarlison. "He was tired, and just couldn't reach the ball. He didn't intend it". Wonky-browed ****shaft.
