Not really, Joke Hole was a "free transfer"

He was on ****-off wages though. Chelsea offered him a new contract 18 months before and he delayed signing. He did his knee in, then they withdrew the offer and offered him a third of the original, iirc. We came in and offered him more wages than he was currently on at Chelsea... <doh>

his wagws were so much more than Bennys that over a 4 year contract they came to same cost .
Plus Chelsea actually made money on the signing as the loan fees they got whe he was on loan covered the transfer fee then they sold him while we ended up paying Coles wages why he played for another club <grr>
I have never been so against a LFC transfer and i was proved correct in every way though it was fairly obvious how it would end up after about 40 mins of his time with us .

We should have known Gerard’s managerial career wasn’t going to go well that summer when he claimed that Cole was doing things like Messi in training when he joined.

He was mint @ 2006 during that WC. Messi-like was a bit too far, but he was a special footballer, for sure. But 4 years later it was patently obvious he was on the scrap heap. I can well imagine in training he still had his innate skill, but unfortunately for him Prem football means you have to move around at pace quite a bit, and that was something he was palpably incapable of doing.

That's not so much legends as just anyone who played for us in the 2000s.

Are you trying to suggest Florent Sinama Pongolle, Jay Spearing and Mark Gonzalez arn't two of Liverpool's biggest legends?

Who is Natasha Dowie or are there some typos there... can't say I've ever seen Natasha as a man's name before.

So... I was surprised that Skrtel has as many own goals against Liverpool as Carragher.. Both on 7. Always felt like Carragher scored way more but Skrtel had just as many. Enough to put them both joint top 5 goalscorers against Liverpool
