Ridiculous. 4 overs to play and they take them off. Then the powers that be moan that people aren't interested in test match cricket anymore... maybe things like this don't help Can't blame the umpires, the ICC need to re-word their laws to allow the umpires to used common sense.
The umpires had no choice. They are observing the ridiculous ICC rules regarding bad light. There is no allowance for common sense and that is why test cricket is struggling. On another point, why was Clarke, who deserves a lot of credit for making a game of it, whinging about bad light when he thought he might loose? These Aussies with their 'holier than thou' attitude of sportsmanship etc should cast their minds back a few years to when they would do anything to beat us ( and they usually did) where was the sportsmanship then?
It was a ****ing disgrace, but as has been said already, it wasn't the fault of the umpires. I'm sure that law will be changed very quickly now. The umpires should be able to offer the light to the batsmen, as it used to be.
I had thought about closing it last night but thought posters would want to talk about the weekends outcome. Plus, if its not the thread would just sink on its own accord. I have no intention of closing it but I don't expect to see it too often between now and the next series
Is that some kind of threat? You'll have to explain how to locate a thread that's sunk a long way. You should be a dab-hand at that
