Fair play to Ali. Guys batted everyone from 1-9. Never moaned and just done what’s requested of him for the good of the team. Knows he prob won’t get as many runs at 3 than 7 but allows root and brook to stay at Brook to stay at 4 and 5 and be a bit more protected.

Bazball looks good when it works for sure. Crawley ridden his luck a couple times but good session that. With rain forecast need to push the game along. Could be fun if brook JB and stokes come in with us already having a lead of 50/100

:emoticon-0106-cryin I've missed it all in meetings.

I have to say though moeen really delivered at 3 there. thats more than enough to justify the extra bowler.

I reckon the have two choices now. Go mad and get out trying to build any score then bowl at this lot and hope or build a big lead and hope to bolw them out if rain permits.

I reckon 450 all out is very possible here lol. if they score any more it'll take a way from the bowling time.

Gonna have to bowl australia out who will look to just bat England out the game and take a draw.

In surprised England didn’t just declare with 30 to go today and have a bowl at them and back themselves to chase down any target they may set.

    That'd be bazball stupidity.

There's enough to unsettle them while out old bowlers have feet up.

Let's the aussies have a bad night figure how to get us out and go t20 in then morning so we have a few hours to go at them

    I watched the highlights.

Crawley highlights look like a 50% stellar showing and 50% blind luck.

ive never seen anyone it a huge century and miss their own stumps about 10 times buly pure luck. I'd say he scored about 30? from chopping the ball past his own stumps before he finally did chop on.

Watched the day. Maybe but the Ozzy field was never in the right place, so despite flashing or slashing at some it was to balls that would land in safe areas if he didn't get it right.

tbh Australia were poor. The attack was all the same and they wouldn't have got Crawley or Root out if it wasn't how freaky the ball got towards the end of the day. Never seen a ball lose it's bounce so suddenly like it did today.

The whole Oz team looked tired from opening of play today.

we want to run them in the field for 2 hours while we go down as far as wood and woakes for as many runs as possible them get them out batting against broad and anderson.

10 wickets tonget and I personally think anything more than say 150 lead would be bazball in 2 hours today. take no more than that time imo.

Same here. Seem to be going well. Ideally bowl them out today but realistically hope to get them 5/6 down and hope to finish them off during any actual play over the weekend. Tomorrow seems a write off so could make Sunday interesting

they're struggling to get a clean connection on defensive bowling so not much Bazball and suddenly Cumings bowls at the stumps and Stokes is bowled <laugh>

    stokes is gone.

Aussies are already playing for time. They think this is a washout after today.

I'd be very tempted to go full bazball here are declare now and get after them as negative mindset can lead to wickets.

I honestly think england just have to roll the dice to save the ashes as tomorrow does really look a washout. We need to get into this lot.

This is why was saying surprised didn’t declare with 30 mins to go yesterday. A lead of 30 or a lead of 130 means nothing if we can’t bowl them out.

Rather have a lead of 30, bowl then out for 250 then have a run t20 game of chasing 200 in what ever game is left.

rather than get a lead of 130 then only get them 7 down before the rain comes

I think taking an hour today gets the aussies in the field and forces them to not just focus on batting.

    Surprise them now IMO

Well it'd only 10mins to change over in theory so it's really what is the conditions like as is 10mins worth giving the uassie openers notice over lunch. you want them rushing to pad up after lunch here and get in their heads while our boys are sure what's coming.
