I agree, it should take years to develop players as frankly nobody is see is anything bar a stones or buttler like slugger.

Lawrence is another big swinger. Theres very very very few back foot type players.

I mean people like bell say got dogs abuse in the past but the team is crying out of someone of that talent.

Seems old man anderson wont give up the line that things have just not gone to plan. Says he thought they had a good chance.

In fairness to the old lad he did give his all last game.

See today the 'we never win in Australia anyway' argument has appeared by Giles, trying to save his job

There is a difference to not winning and not being competitive.
It could be forgiven if England were even close in any of the tests thus far, but they haven't been so they can go **** themselves with that bull.

126/3 is a reasonable start for both sides. poor day for rain and a lot of time lost.

if australia are limited to 300 for example that would be a very good england result. 250 would probably be dream land right about now. the other side is a 400+ score but that could be day 3 already.

Then the elephant in the room arises again. Can england dig in and show a tiny tiny bit of fight with the bat.

Oh dear. 400+ and declaration to have a go at england before the close of play.

Worse than I actually thought. England have 3 days to survive with rain.

Crawley only survived by a no ball.

Close of play and england have 10 wickets.

    No night watchman sent out.

broad is apparently a hero cos he got a 5 for.
I checked the actual scorecard and found he went at nearly 4 an over which isn't exactly great over 30 overs total.

Anderson went for 1.8 per over but only got 1 wicket.

Leahc, root and malan as the part time spin all went for high enough run scores as well.

All in all not great given its a 8 wicket haul and a declaration.

But cling to any hope i suppose the "caged tiger" struck apparently.

    seems apt.

I think broad stuck it to the batsmen in response to Root's commentary critiquing the bowling.

It doesn't matter that the bowlers do is they are bowled out for 140...... seems to me there's not much togetherness out there now <laugh>
