the issue for me is the same old same old (but new batsmen) dont seem to get the basics of test cricket. the past 3 days this ball has moved under lights so now you dig in and wait for the benign conditions in the morning. none of them seem capable even if conditions are tough.. the difference.imo is day 1 end.failed to get into the Aussies under lights etc and the scored enough to declare. slaughter England under lights and then had enough that their own stupidity in not following on won't matter. It would take a century from root and alli/Bairstow now to win this. it won't be drawn imo. 2 centuries? with one of them.exposed under the lights now? forget it.
They may also have blown the Test yesterday by not enforcing the follow on. Bowlers were probably tired but it was the perfect time to bowl. To be fair England took advantage but it is still a big ask to win from here.
Interesting finale to this game. England need to stay 3 down by cop tonight. Time isn’t an issue, just need to take their time, not do anything silly, see off the 2nd new ball and make the Aussies tool in the field. Theyll be feeling the presshre afe rbeing abead all game
Stumps........England 176-4......still need 178 tomorrow to take an unlikely victory......Aussies still favourites Good days cricket, it goes to the 5th day. Huge in the context of the series
Damn lost Malan. Thrilling last day in store, were exactly half way there and 4 wickets down. Need root to bat to the end really.
if they survive first 30 mins then they night be able to get runs before then lights come on. It has to be done quick imo.
New ball due in 18 overs, its gonna be tough for the first half of the day. By which time they'll be ****ed anyway
yeah.... suppose so... 18 overs is enough to get 100 runs if we go at it. leave Anderson to get 30 to win.. what could go wrong eh?
how long has this ****e been going on for ??! how long will it continue to go on for ??! why does anybody still ****ing care ??!
