Think be interestig to mix up the players and teams but not sure how some of the smaller clubs will feel given T20 is where make most of their money from.

City named cricket teams rather than county named and and based, given that for example Manchester isn't part of Lancashire yet hosts 99% of its home matches this news isn't surprising, can't see many non Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester etc based fans supporting those cities rather than the county for which they represent.

Greed is as ever the key factor, also if it comes into being it'll more than likely be pay-per-view.

 

Theyre just trying to compete wth big bash and Ipl. Can see the logic given the success those 2 tournaments have had and we've lagged behind considering was first played here.

Did say some of the games will be played on free to air tv so that's good at least. Step in right direction.

 

If its not county based the ECB shouldn't be involved, they replaced the TCCB in the nineties with the soul purpose of enhancing county and test cricket, yet here they are selling county cricket down the swanny.
Do the actual counties benefit from it?, if matches are played at the respective county grounds and they use the training facilities etc they should pay for it.

 

the ipl league is paying mad money so.... unless sky is ponying up mad moeny there is no way to compete with ipl.
