No we can't. Rain stopped play and early lunch now being taken. Swanny has got his 5 for Have a word with the weather JC.
I know you didn't, but it would inevitably happen and derail the thread. We don't want that to happen do we?
WICKET - Bracewell c Bell b Swann 19 (NZ 220-9) Five men around the bat now as Swann comes in. Quite why it's taken this long to be this attacking is an interesting question. GOT HIM! Bracewell pushed hard at it, and Ian Bell at silly point stayed low to pouch the precious chance in his outstretched right hand.
Beat me to it Jonesey Should be done and dusted very soon now, provided there isn't a biblical deluge
as long as no poor light or some ****e. england bowlers have all had a party with new zealand really struggling with the bat.
WICKET - Boult c Prior b Anderson 0 - ENGLAND WIN MATCH BY 247 RUNS Yes, James Anderson it is. Four slips, edged, out! Simple enough chance, but England are understandably delighted - there have been times today when it looked like it might never happen, but they have now sealed their 2-0 series win. And breathe.
Good victory over what really is an average Test Team but it builds up the habbit of winning and thats never a bad one to have. Over the two tests, my conclusions.. Compton isn't test class! Root is a great find.. Bowlers are back on form after a lack lustre series against the Kiwi's down under. Good to see Swann back on form, and Cook is too defensive a captain, I know he's a young captain, so will give him some leeway, I hope he learns to go for the jugular from the off when in such a dominant position! Get KP to replace Bairstow and bring on the Aussies I say!
Just as well following the decision to bat again. Bring on the convicts now. Some one-day ****e in between.
We could have made them follow on and still had a similar situation. It made no odds, they could have dug in and batted most of yesterday.
