Fulham and Everton are probably on the same level over here as Liverpool due to Howard and Dempsey, you get Dempsey to us and the trip practicaly buys him and probably a nice load cash from other avenues. Roma will become a fan faavorite over here now and that game will be packed out with Michael bradley having just joined them.
well if the only reason to buy a yank is if we are touring then surely we should buy snoogy doogy.. he's younger, fitter and costs less now that G&H are no longer his agents.
Not saying that, I said IF we are really going after Dempsey, he is a genuine target and a player we want to bring in, why not do it before the tour and make sure that you capitalize on this? FSG are all about chances to promote, profit, commercialize etc, we have seen that from the documentary, shirt deals, deals here and there with sponsors, a mascot for the kids, etc. Just think that if we are actually 100% interested in Dempsey then he should be on the trip from the start or bought rather. If not then no big deal but nothing wrong with buying a player and then recupping the funds to use on maybe another player.
Squada pretty large, but as far as I know, all the England European cup contingent, Johnson, henderson, gerrard, Downing and Carroll are not turning up until the 2nd week of the tour.......Dont know about the others in European cup. (Agger etc.) First game against Toronto will be a very young lineup and will be unrecognisable from a liverpool xi of last year.... I reckon: GK: Jones RB: flanno LB: Enrique CB: Agger (if there if not Wisdom) CB: Skrtel (if there if not Wilson) RCM: Aquilani CM: Lucas LCM: Adam CF: Borini RF: Pacheco LF: Joe Cole. Will obviously all change when other players turn up....But wouldnt be surprised if that team started against Toronto......maybe with a bit of Shelvey involved..or maybe Sterling as the left forward.
he scores goals though, which is what we all want. He is fiery too which I think the fans will take to as well. But again, I hear we have agreed this and done that but yet no sign of anything from Fulham or Dempsey. Let's go get Hernanes Mito, I'll drive.
anybody know any reason why conor coady isn't going on the tour, he had a bit of success last pre-season??
just numbers i would have thought...So many Midfielders in the squad especially now Aquaman and Joe cole are back.......
coady was on england u19 duty so i had not heard if he got injured. robinson was on that team as well and he is in. must look it up i guess
i would personally go into the Toronto game with this line-up: Gulacsi Flanno Carra Wisdom Robinson Spearo Adam Sterling Jonjo Cole Borini I just hope Rodgers doesn't play all the youngsters together cos imo they just don't learn or really gain experience as its just like playing for the reserves or u18's, for me there has to be a mixture, i mean how much will Wisdom learn playing alongside Carra!? lots! .... How much will he learn playing next to Wilson!? Nowhere near as much (and i rate Wisdom highly) ... Its the same with Sterling learning off Cole on the other wing etc etc ... Will be interesting to find out... Is Lucas actually fit now?? Cos when he had the press conference with rodgers and spearo he didn't say he was fit to play ... I'll be surprised if we see him at all on the tour nevermind first game (and before somebody mentions whats the point in taking him then) its to making him feel involved again as he must be going out of his mind with boredom and i'm sure he can take part in some light training, for me there is more to benefit from being around the squad seeing the new style of play first hand than training at melwood with a handful of players.
id prefer to keep Sterling in his position, playing a young player out of position doesnt do any good for the lads confidence....Not sure about Lucas. If he is out then id have Spearo in his place for the first game
i did't think Lucas was ready yet, going by the interview he gave last week, i would say he is at least 2-3 weeks away, or the impression i got anyway, but if that was the case why take him on tour, must be just for the odd 20-30 mins here and there scenario, see how he copes.
Borini was part of the European Championship final just fifteen days ago, I doubt he will be part of the first game. I could be wrong, but isn't he one of the players joining up in the second week...?
I'm sure I just saw on SSN that Carroll now wasn't included in the tour because of the transfer situation. Could just have imagined that though. Glad Aqualani is going, really do think he'll be a good player if he gets his head down and just plays.
To be honest, I just want it sorting one way or the other now, fed up of reading/hearing/talking about it now Fixed... I agree but he will be back in Italy come 1 September...
I'll refer to him as AA from now on. I don't reckon he'll go. He'd fit in well at the top of the midfield 3 with Lucas & Gerrard.
I agree he'd fit in well. I have gone on record to say that I think he is the perfect fit for the way we'll play under Rodgers, certainly the best fit from the current squad. I also think Borini joining could help with Aquilani staying however, I still think he will be back in Italy come September
If you keep saying that someone will offer you a wager on it, for the record I hope you're wrong but I think you're probably right.
Wouldn't take it anyway, don't see the point in internet forum bets, no one ever pays up. Plus, I'm far too found of my pennies... Edit: the temporary adjustment to my signature will do...
I hope he's finally realised that the only way to get a permanent move is to put a good shift in this season AT LIVERPOOL Alonso stylee and we finally get some payback for all the misery he's caused, the wee f*cker.
