They'll all get flats here and spend time with families on non training days. It's an easy one to get around - not easily enforcible either - especially when players are paid enough to easily afford second and third homes. That article sounded a bit like media-friendly spin from the Allams in all truth. There are also a lot of holes in the statement - All "major" signings being one, where you live during the season and during the close season/days off are not necessarily the same being another, and of-course it is perfectly sensible to commute from quite a lot of Yorkshire and North Lincs in under an hour. How many years counts as a "significant long term deal"? They are also saying they are "building flexibility" into the type of contracts on offer - does this mean that higher earners will be signed on shorter deals with an option to extend in the Club's favour if we stay up? Can't really force them to uproot their families if that is the case - though it is implied in the article that this will be only necessary in "some" cases. I get the impression that this request - and it only seems to be a request - will only be applicable in specific cases anyway. It might just be to limit the number of requests from new players for 3 and 4 year deals - which would tie into that flexibility thing.
We had a thread about it a few days ago you pissed old fart. You said it was a great ideas players living locally. Hang on not that you actually read threads properly before spouting any old ****e
I said the same earlier in this thread, it just struck me maybe the Allams have some houses they want to sell.
