He's done nothing but say that he'd be happy to keep Dawson. If you're going to talk about run of play, we deserved all 3 against Newcastle and the results were about right in the last two I feel. It's a long way off before panic stations. Everyone's being very harsh on AVB, had this been another manager he'd be given much more time before the knives came out.
District,Harry's gone so it doesn't effing matter if you know something we don't. It's history so who gives a flying fiddler's? What matters to us is sorting this mess out.
We couldn't play Lloris or Dempsey today, as they weren't registered 24 hours before kick off. If we were playing tomorrow, we could have - which is a huge error when it comes to the Transfer Window this year.
The person to blame is Levy He's had 5 transfer windows since we got into the CL and ****ed it up big time The spend only what we bring in on sales and wait until the last day to do most of our buying approach is a failure And conceding late goals after squandering lots of chances has been a Spurs trademark for years, it has nothing to do with AVB
Sorry YV but in his interview with sky yesterday he was asked about whether Dawson would now be staying after it was confirmed that Kaboul woulfd be out until xmas and he said that as he'd known about Kabouls situation since the toon match that nothing has changed. This seems disrespectful to me as Dawson was our captain. I agree re the toon match ... thought we deserved a drawbut Norwich were unfortunate today and I thought WBA were last week...at the end of the day they were the away teams! As for AVB...I have had this view since before he was made our manager...Like I said I really hope I am wrong but he is like a mix of Gross and Francis with a big swig of Bloke in a coats arrogance and Hoddle's appalling man management thrown in for good measure.
I agree there's nothing to do but try to be patient and support AVB. I personally feel much more blame should go to Levy for where we are now, as I've said before. But I understand and share the frustration with AVB. I thought he did a very good job against Newcastle. But two DMs at home? Nonwinning and unattractive football look to be what he brings. I realize it's only three games, and I will try to be supportive, but I'm getting to the point where I nonestly think it might be best to sack AVB and Levy and try again.
Croydon what I meant was that Dembele should have started today and must start next match. Defoe as has been said for years now is hopeless.
I don't agree with him not playing Dawson either but he really hasn't been disrespectful from the sounds of things. AVB's a bit like Murray and clearly gets misinterpreted by the media and public as arrogance. Nothing wrong with the bloke on a personal level.
No offence but clearly you don't realise it's 3 games then. He's not even close to having had a fair chance to show us that he can put us up at the right end of the table. As for Levy, he's done so much right for the club I think it's very poor to even consider sacking him.
Far too early for this kind of reaction IMO far too early! Today's game highlighted Friedels preference for staying on the goal line and thereby not commanding the goal area. While he made a couple of great saves at least one should not have been required if he had mopped up the ball in the first place and the Norwich goal came once again when the ball should have been gathered before IMO. Hopefully this problem will not exist when Hugo takes his place. Dembele made an impact straight away and we have to be optimistic about his role once he beds in. The told you so's are jumping the gun IMO.
If commanding the goal area was the strength you were looking at a keeper, I'm going to say you will end up dissapointed with Lloris. He's known mostly as an excellent reflexive shot-stopper but soft on defending free kicks, etc.
Well our next match is away at Reading and I HATE to say it but a break normally breaks our rhythm and we lose. Our rhythm so far is two draws and we could easily have lost today. It's going to take a lot to convince me that we have the right man for the job and not even a big win next match would satisfy me. I watch or listen to each match with breath held waiting for the late equalizer or the defeat which will send us on a run of defeats. I suppose the Chris Hughton connection might have had an influence today but I don't know for sure.
If true that will be disappointing have not seen him enough to judge. but free kicks are not the same as commanding the area in open play and corners and if he is the top player he has been described then he must surely have this in his locker.
No YV I didn't say it did butI was supporting the sentiment that Spurs should be focusing on AVB (the present) rather than the past (Harry)
disgusting for anyone to be questioning AVB after 3 matches..id usually have a field day at other supporters who did this to their manager..i cant have a field day when it is some of my felloe spurs that may be edging that way. i dont even think AVB needs any justification...there should be nothing that needs answering. if people cant see that when we had all our new signings bar 2 on the pitch that we looked much better.......i blame Huddlestone for the goal....watch the replays and you will see his half arsed effort to get his gigantic frame in the way..or maybe he is just too slow...sometimes you got to give AVB credit...it wont hurt...forget the sending off..that was not a red.
Incorrect. You now have to be registered by mid-day on the Friday before you can play in any of the weekends games, and that includes the night game on the following Monday.
Now i understand why rivals call us fickle. 3 games in and we are booing.... disgrace in my opinion. AVB needs time. We have virtually changed our entire midfield bar Lennon and Bale - it will take time for these to all gell.
Remember discussing him when we were linked with him earlier this year, on this board or somewhere else (possibly reddit), but some french gooners with knowledge of the league weighed in (i can mainly judge him by CL appearances). He definitely is capable of making really difficult reflexive saves, but the consensus was that he can be bullied in his area, and is prone to the occasional clumsiness.
