That's pretty much the only consolation I can take from this whole debacle - £23m rising to £27.5m is not a good deal considering what we rejected.
£24m for a player who is highly prone to injury and in the last year of their contract is not what I would call **** business, whoever it is you sell to. Turning down a potential £40m for up to £27m however is plain ****ing stupid. We've ultimately bought better for less and Levy still has to sell a player that hates him and the club. Nice one Danny
now it's being reported that it's a deal worth £38m...so it might be £25m or £27.5m or £30m or £32.5m or £38m ... only in the weird world of football reporting
