Yeah it’s a good pint. Kieran Maguire did say Levy didn’t want to win trophies because it would cost him more.
Levy goes....Rayner goes.... Maybe its a job swap. You know it might just work out...Madder things have happened!
I could understand it if they'd be floating about in mid-table mediocity, but they've qualified for Europe in all but 2 seasons since 2007. They're well run, have a great new stadium and have consistently delivered European football. They had one bad season in the league and still managed to win the Europa League. We've seen first hand what can happen if you gamble on success and fall short. I'd like us to develop naturally and view getting to the PL (and eventually staying there) as a long term project, like the likes of Bristol City are doing, rather than spunking untold millions on changing 60% of the squad every summer. Sure, that's not as exciting as treating it like Football Manager, but it's not very exciting when you **** it up and can't pay the bills.
Not sure us City fans could handle a well-run, sensible club.. most of us have had a lifetime of watching city go nearly out of business to beating Arsenal in the Premier League, to nearly going out of business again, to the FA Cup final and now supposedly nearly out of business again... Two decades of being owned by an accountant and having the same manager and remaining middle of the Championship might get boring ! If Duffen and Allan hadn't gambled, we probably wouldn't have seen city in the top division.. so cant criticise Acun too much.
