I've seen the Levellers twice and, although I haven't really got into them in any big way (my best mate is the fan), they do still have a devout following. I'd happily see them again but my folk rock fix is found in the excellent Decemberists who do excellent stories and characterisation in each song and album.
I was there and also saw them a few times later on. Brighton when he sang once and fell through the backdrop set and stayed there upside down for 2 hours ... But the wildest Beth King Kurt IOW I was a total mess ended up in hospital after it went into chaos also impaled my hand on a broken car aerial straight through 30 stitches required as I left it too long Split my right cornea into four and got covered in gallons of baked beans Downed 1/2 pint of Maggots with a bottle of something ended up very very sick Naughty DT

It all happened around me ....whilst I was arguing this thread....most of the arguing today was just to take my mind of what was happening.......but this guy died far too young, he left a young wife and kids...he was as a Toon supporter...and one of the real best people I have ever known Life is so unfair, it was so unfair to him..live life to the full...I think he did
Beth, "Beautiful Day" is always played at The Liberty when we win - sends you home with a spring in your step. And there are plenty of Turks supporting the Swans these days. I am willing to convert you, lol NB: There is nothing wrong with Pigbag - a great record which takes me back to my teenage years..........
LEVELLERS - WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY LYRICS What a beautiful day (hey hey) I'm the king of all time And nothing is impossible In my all powerful mind It was on the fifth of November, when time it went back Some say that that's impossible, but you and I we never looked back And wasn't it incredible, so beautiful and above all Just to see the fuse get lit this time To light a real bonfire, for all time And what a beautiful day (hey hey) I'm the king of all time And nothing is impossible In my all powerful mind I was drinking in my night club It felt good to be back When Hepburn said I love you And Flynn said, make mine a double jack Was then we planned the revolution To make things better for all time And when Guevara said that's crazy And ordered up a bottle of wine What a beautiful day (hey hey) What a beautiful day (it's a beuatiful day) I'm the king of all time And nothing is impossible In my all powerful mind And what a beautiful day (hey hey) I'm the king of all time (it's a beautiful day) And nothing is impossible In my all powerful mind In there on the big screen, every night I've seen The way all things could be For me, for me, for me, for me The news broke after midnight, That we pulled the temples down without a sound But the generals they were hiding out The ministers, Well! They'd all gone to ground Wealth re-distribution, became the new solution So I got a paper bag, but you got the one with all the holes And what a beautiful day (hey hey) What a beautiful day (it's a beautiful day) I'm the king of all time And nothing is impossible In my all powerful mind (What a beautiful day) What a beautiful day I'm the king of all time (it's a beautiful day) And nothing is impossible In my all powerful mind Oh yea, nothing is impossibe In my all powerful mind That's because nothing is impossible In my own powerful mind U2 - BEAUTIFUL DAY LYRICS The heart is a bloom Shoots up through the stony ground There's no room No space to rent in this town You're out of luck And the reason that you had to care The traffic is stuck And you're not movin' anywhere You thought you'd found a friend To take you out of this place Someone you could lend a hand In return for grace It's a beautiful day Sky falls, you feel like It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away You're on the road But you've got no destination You're in the mud In the maze of her imagination You love this town Even if that doesn't ring true You've been all over And it's been all over you It's a beautiful day Don't let it get away It's a beautiful day Touch me Take me to that other place Teach me now I know I'm not a hopeless case See the world in green and blue See China right in front of you See the canyons broken by cloud See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out See the Bedouin fires at night See the oil fields at first light And see the bird with a leaf in her mouth After the flood all the colors came out (Day!) It was a beautiful day Don't let it get away Beautiful day Touch me Take me to that other place Reach me I know I'm not a hopeless case What you don't have you don't need it now What you don't know you can feel it somehow What you don't have you don't need it now Don't need it now It was a beautiful day
Extremely heart felt wishes Beth I was also reminded of my mate Jon who was with me what a pair and four years on he took his own life ... I vowed then that everyday would be fun ... the magic of 606 ... he would be laughing now as he hated football and just couldn't get it ...live everyday and thank god for music and QPR
Yes Oddball so right...thank somebody (not God, after today...I am having even more difficulty than usual with the God concept) for music (what ever your poison) and QPR (or what ever your poison) and what ever gives you the joy of life. Sleep is defeating me a bit tonight, so I am just wittering on to you lot But thanks for listening
Sorry to hear about your friend. That's a real drag. Been there with that sort of thing myself. May be it's best to listen to something a lil more cheery, perhaps? But I understand, we all want to listen to our faves. Wake up feeling better, k? Alrighty then......
