Milner will hang around for coaching I feel. Lots of experience, good character and offers a good backup option
Im hoping that too. Model Pro and deffo one to think about keeping on. Remember he used his own time off to support the yoof against villa was it?
Yeah I think Keita's time is up at Liverpool. It's a shame because he did look great in the bundesliga - particularly his link up play with Werner, but then Werner's not exactly pulled up any trees yet in the PL either. Putting aside the injury issues, it just seems that our style of play, particularly in terms of what we need from our midfield, doesn't suit him. Funnily enough I think he'd have thrived under a manager like Rafa Benitez.
I can't see the amount of injuries he's had being just down to style of play or demands. this is an extract form the unreliable transfermarkt. 20/21 Ankle Injury Dec 20, 2020 Feb 18, 2021 60 days 13Liverpool FC 20/21 Ligament Injury Dec 10, 2020 Dec 15, 2020 5 days 1Liverpool FC 20/21 Hamstring Injury Nov 23, 2020 Dec 5, 2020 12 days 3Liverpool FC 20/21 Corona virus Oct 14, 2020 Nov 3, 2020 20 days 6Liverpool FC 19/20 Ill Mar 10, 2020 Mar 12, 2020 2 days 1Liverpool FC 19/20 Groin Injury Mar 1, 2020 Mar 6, 2020 5 days 1Liverpool FC 19/20 Angina Feb 26, 2020 Mar 3, 2020 6 days 2Liverpool FC 19/20 groin strain Jan 2, 2020 Jan 25, 2020 23 days 5Liverpool FC 19/20 Ill Nov 26, 2019 Nov 28, 2019 2 days 1Liverpool FC 19/20 Torn muscle bundle Sep 22, 2019 Sep 28, 2019 6 days 3Liverpool FC 19/20 Torn muscle bundle Aug 10, 2019 Sep 24, 2019 45 days 7Liverpool FC 18/19 Groin Injury May 1, 2019 Jun 21, 2019 51 days 5Liverpool FC 18/19 Knock Mar 12, 2019 Mar 30, 2019 18 days 2Liverpool FC 18/19 Muscular problems Oct 16, 2018 Nov 5, 2018 20 days It seems to me theres a recurring theme of soft muscle injuries that have occured and also some illnesses. a problematic groin injury and some others. I have a feeling that like sturridge (we say him pull a stunt on loan v west brom where he lasted all of 5mins after being subbed on for example) I just really wonder how keita takes his warm ups and activation sessions. some of our players would run through a wall to play and some seem to be just out a lot.
Have to feel sorry for Naby because a lot of his injuries stemmed from poor management by his NT manager who overplayed him whilst he was injured. That was really the start of his injury woes and he's never really recovered. Then he was cynically fouled by Rakitic in the CL and that set him back again. On paper, he is perfect for a Klopp midfield. His pressing stats for both Leipzig and LFC are through the roof and he was topping the charts in that sense. His ability is undoubted IMO - he presses, he's progressive with the ball, can dribble and can get the ball forward. Our team scores more goals when he's on the pitch and he has one of the highest points per game when he plays. Obviously the sample size is small but he is conducive to our team playing very well. I just hope he can get a run of games somewhere (either here or another club) and stay injury free. The guy is ridiculously talented. Prior to joining, if you had to look at all the metrics that are important for a midfielder, he tops most of them.
Some just play through the pain. Suarez for example played through everything, hardly missed a training session because of injury never mind match. VVD too until "the assault"
I think one of the players reported suarez borrowing their boots as his foot was so swollen and he played and scored 2. He is and was a beast, a carnivorous one. Others seem to get along just fine with knocks and bangs but then some.just seem to not be able to run off a bit of a bruise
