Ever the optimist Bob!............... Try Newcastle and Stoke at the Liberty, there's alway crap Mancity too at the Liberty, so chin up son.......
1 Game? Are you seriously comparing this season's end to that of Rodgers and particularly Laudrop? Don't pay attention to Legotarian, he's like a worn out record, even his flip side is scratched to death..............
Exactly, if we had won or drawn yesterday it would have equalled our best run without defeat in the Premier League. Which is only four games... man, that doesn't actually sound that good
justifiably as we were 2 points off relegation and the players were queing outside the chairmans door complaining about his lack of training and leadership....You dont get sacked for being good at your job. so our resident monk hater is way off
The shadows of Laudrup,Rodgers and Martinez loom large over a disenchanted Liberty Stadium. Under those three luminaries,The Swans' played football that was lauded world wide. Now,under Monk, the cupless one,the world looks on wondering, where have The Swans' gone?
Playing football that is unrecognisable. Some, you included, are happy to see dross,if it brings in a few more points. Real football fans' want to see something a bit more interesting, entertaining, and having a clear identity. Not for nothing was title "The Swansea Way" spawned. Those days are sadly gone, they've been Monked away.
Support their club, players and manager, not bitch and whine all season Vetch The Swansea Way has been dead and buried since we won the cup
Too right Valley and look where we are and the improvements made not just on the pitch but with everything to do with the club.......we have never been happier or such a healthy established premiership side............We had a very lucky escape as it could have easily been so much different if jinx never saw the light and sacked laudrup and took a chance on monk.....
Legotarian bitches about our style being lost, but that started with Laudrop, he was the manger that did not want passing stats for the sake of it, and it was he who started the more direct approach, which ended the more patient build up play of Rodgers, of course players coming and going can also have a disruptive effect to that well oiled passing machine of Swanselona. I would like us to retain possession more, and I do think we are diluted by players like Shelvey, who's passing can go from brilliant to absolute garbage from one game to another, having Britton out will also have a negative effect on our possession stats. I'm sure that now that Monk has had his first successful season pretty much completed, he will be looking to get the squad more fluid in it's passing and possession, it's been patchy this season for many of the reasons that I have mentioned, and there are probable other reasons as well that Monk may know of, which is probably also down to Monk developing another hard to beat formation in 4-4-2 diamond, which does work with the right opposition, but I hope it will not be the main thrust of our philosophy from here on in. Sometimes players can drift between formations without realising it, we are still developing new players in Montero, Cork, Naughton, Fernandez, Emnes, Gomis, these players are all relitvily new to our team, and lets not forget that we are heading into our 5th season in the Premier league, and many of our original players are coming to the end of their careers, and that to doesn't help, yet we have managed all this very well under Garry Monk, and he is to be commended for the way he has kept us in the top 10 all season, and has halted the end of season blues that has so plagued us once we hit 40 points, so there is a bigger picture to Swansea City, which the likes of Legotarian fail to see, or more to the point don't want to see, really think that those of you still blaming all our woes on the sacking of ML by the club, should get over it. It's in the past, move on.
I said it before and I will say it again, Libertarian and Bob will not happy until the Swans are relagated. The continued bleating should have by now made this apparent.
Somebody else who can't see the wood for the trees then. And a clairvoyant to boot. How do YOU know what will make Bob and I happy? Sheep bleat, and I can guarantee that you are barking up the wrong tree.
Yes, and something I always credited Laudrup for. Just as I have said on countless times that we played some outstanding football under ML in his first season. This season has also been a huge improvement on last season too imo. Next season however, I want to see Monk tweak our game plan to become more attacking (this will require some new players with pace added) and rather than allow the opposition to have control of the ball, I'd like to see more of a return to our passing game while keeping our organisation and the defensive strengths we have created this season.
It isn't '1 Game' though. I have seen four maybe five good performances and a handful of halves all season. We may have got points but we haven't had performances. If you like hoof & hope football Stoke have a few season tickets available for next season and you might appreciate the kids down the road - they're back in blue next year so perhaps you can dig out the old scarf.
