Season 07/08 Cardiff's gates were 13,939, 06/07: 15,224, 05/06: 11,802. Yes thats right folks, 5 years ago Cardiff's gates were less than 12 thousand. When's the last time our attendances were below 12 thousand? Even in League One we averaged around 15 thousand.

Now considering that City's measly crowds miraculously shot up just before the new Stadium was built and are now more than twice what they were 5 years previously, it's fair enough to surmise that with a new stadium ourselves coupled with Premier League football, our crowds could easily double as well. No doubt a new venue is in the pipeline now that we're back in the big time. That's the natural order of things: build the facilities and the people will come. Even if it does leave you wondering about the loyalty of the likes of the Bluebirds fans who only numbered a pathetic seven thousand+ 10 years ago and below 12 thousand five years ago.

Now put that in your pipe, Cityace, and smoke it.

(P.S. I never had anything against CCFC in the past but if this bitter little cretin is anything to go by, well: come on Reading! Funny how it only takes one little D**K Head to turn you off a whole Club!)

Sword Hoopster aka ******, my point being if you had even bothered to read ALL of my post is that what hope have you got when you are walking the league and still cant fill your ground. Crowds go up when the team is doing well, it always happens, and winning a divison and getiing into the premier is in fact doing well yet your attendances are low which suggest you havent got the potential to fill a bigger stadium. Ultimately my point was these facts will make it hard for you to attract players of the standard you need, Ian Holloway was going on about how he couldnt get players to come to Blackpool, a similar in size club to you.

Queens Park Rangers want experienced Upson
Matthew Upson is a major target for Queens Park Rangers Football Club.

Now their promotion to the Premier League has been confirmed, Rangers are in the process of identifying targets for the summer transfer window.

Neil Warnock is eager to ensure the Londoners remain in the top-flight for some time, and he is keen to add some experienced players to his squad.

Fans FC understand the Loftus Road boss has set his sights on a move for Upson, who will be available on a free transfer when his contract expires at West Ham United.

The 32-year-old looks certain to leave Upton Park if the Hammers are relegated, and he is likely to be tempted to move across London and link up with Warnock.

And you're obviously missing my point my Celtic cousin. If you're attendances can shoot up like a phoenix from the flames when a shiny new ground is thrown up, why couldn't ours? When you were getting a paltry 11k+ 5 years ago, your new stadium was well in the pipeline so obviously the planners (to their credit) foresaw the potential in a new home.

Whether or not players want to come and play at Loftus Road or not is largely academical because firstly money speaks louder than anything else and secondly, we won't even be going after marquee signings to keep us up. I was simply making the point that a Cardiff fan having a go at QPR attendances is a bit like the pot and the kettle don't you think?

MaidaValeRanger, well done you actually put 5 words togther that made a sentence. Sorry fella but not engaging in any conversation or debate with you as your clearly a bit special.

To wrap it up for me Swords, opinions vary but mine is that new stadium or not if you cant fill your stadium when your top of the league then you never will.

    Jon434, he's a brilliant player, I hate him but he's great.

MaidaValeRanger - Stop licking windows, take some remedial lieteracy class and buy an abacus so you can count past 3 which you have actually demonstrated to me in this thread that you cannot in fact do.

I think CityAce is missing the fact that we DO sell out the home end most games. http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html

As you can see from those statistics, we sell out an average of 81.6% of the stadium. When you consider that our stadium can actually hold max. 18300, not the 19148 used by that website, our stat jumps up to 85% full each week. When you further consider that we tend to sell out the home end but often have only 500-1000 away fans, you'll soon realise that we SELL OUT the home end most games. Simples.

With Premier League Football and (if it happens) an expanded capacity you'll soon see the attendance figures rising.

Off topic and I cant be arsed starting a new thread but why are some papers talking about people as Warnocks replacement (Ranieri). I thought promotion was one was to guarantee your job is safe.

qpr - that thingy at the bottom of your post promted me to ask.

I forgot to add in my last post that QPR are one of three teams in the fourth smallest borough in the country. Competing for fans with two PL clubs isn't easy, Cardiff wouldn't know. Our PL status will make a big difference to our ability to compete with Chescum and Fulham.

Warnock won't be sacked, it came from a joke he made that you never know if your job is safe at QPR and it got reported as fact! The gutter press is awful as we learnt recently when The Sun ran a headline of 'guilty' before our trial had even finished!

David Nugent with Danny Graham or Shane Long as a strike partner

Naughton and Ben Mee in defence

    Jay Emmanuel Thomas midfield

I am hoping that Warnock being replaced is purely paper talk as he surely deserves a chance after all hes done, i would be very dissapointed in the board if a.n.other was employed in his place :(

Ditto. We are going to need team spirit to get through next season. We have that with Warnock, I can't see Lippi or Ranieri generating that quickly enough, especially as the players would be unhappy to see Warnock go.

Lets really wrap it up mate. When City were top of the League in 06/07 you were still only getting 15 thousand through the turnstiles right up until your team collapsed around xmas. A new Stadium later and low and behold another 8,000 gimps wake up and decide to suddenly support CCFC. Where were they when you were top the league 4 seasons ago??

Can't argue with statistics my friend.

How does it feel? Bitch slapped by your own argument! :smiley-finger007:

4 seasons ago, you mean when your average was under 13,000 <doh>

Been done to death really, your the only one who keeps bringing this up. I have given an opinion based on facts (league attendance figures), a lot of your arguement is to do with speculation on what would happen if you get a new stadium (is this actually happening).

Who's been bitch slapped now :emoticon-0172-mooni

Yet again missing the point. I'll make it as simple as is humanly possible because the education system in Wales clearly isn't up to scratch.

You said that a team that can't fill the ground when they're top of the table never will. I then pointed out the FACT (league attendance figures) that when CC were top of the table for a considerable time they still couldn't fill their ground. Nevertheless when a new stadium was built and when the team wasn't even top of the table, the gates were up almost 60%!

The last sentence obliterates your argument instantly and dare I say it, makes you look a little bit thick!:emoticon-0100-smile
