RD has millions but chooses not to splash it on the squad. What he has done is authorise a budget to make us a top six contender. Makes us competitive and perhaps more attractive to the next owners? Coveniently forgetting we got relegated into the bargain
Without a doubt the most irritating, wet lettuce of a poster I have ever encountered. A complete and utter lack of passion and ambition. A human spread sheet.
“Two goals per game should get us in the top 6” Not when you concede 3 at home to the likes of Oxford you WUM
SR sounds quite downbeat there, and Reams is talking sense. We are not looking like we can secure a play-off place. When uncertainty about the take-over is added to all the other disadvantages we have saddled ourselves with, success becomes almost impossible. The endless positive spin on the official website begins to look very thin and squeaky.
I bet he is a wow at parties. " would you like a beer Kevin"? " I won't have one now, let's see where we are in an hour."
"Over to you fellow members - let's look forwards, not back". This sums up the doughnut 100%. Total disregard for the carnage in the past.
Just pulled up a stat from Charlton Life. Last 14 league games has seen us score 14 goals and get 14 points. Relegation form. SeriouslyRidiculous has not mentioned this from his bank of nonsense stats. Preferring to include the back end of last season, how bizarre.
He is still banging on about how we need 2 points in every remaining game. SR continually reinvents a pointless piece of trivia - shots off target, chances created etc and fixated on it for a few weeks. Remember the classic about crowds being up by 153 this season when it is blatantly obvious that they are down. A very strange man. Basically, no ambition or passion for Charlton.
A classic bit of SR glass quarter fullness. Charlton's form over the last 6 games is almost identical to that of the top 3 teams - Wigan, Shrewsbury and Blackburn. We have kept pace with them, but are still 15/16 points adrift. That gap has not closed at all since the New Year. Rotherham have the best form of the top 6 teams over the past six matches, 15 points taken. The wheels have come off for Bradford (2 points) and Scunthorpe (5 points) in their last six matches. That is why we have 'caught up' with them. Portsmouth (5 points) and Peterborough (7 points) are also in poor form, which is the main reason we are still 7th rather than 9th in the table. Had Bradford and Scunthorpe maintained the same form as Wigan, Shrewsbury and Blackburn, Charlton would be 8 or 9 points adrift of the top 6, not 2. Their collapse in form is what has kept Charlton within touching distance of a play-off place, not some miracle performed by Karl Robinson. We have done just barely enough to stay in the chasing pack. There are also now FOUR teams just below us but within three points of our tally. If we lose against MK Dons any one (or all of them) could overtake us in the table depending on goal difference. Of those four, two teams have better 6 game form than Charlton; Plymouth ... 14 from their last 6 Bristol Rovers ... 13 from their last 6 If MK Dons get a home win tomorrow don't be surprised to see one of these two take 7th place. Apologists will clutch at any straw to try to convince themselves we are playing well enough to have a chance of promotion. Pitiable really.
